Where I live, in KY, the court rooms have the 10 Commandments but we do not swear on the Bible in the court room.

The one's that made the media did it Purposely trying to bring religion into the gov't, which is against the Constitution. But all of the court houses here that were built with the 10 Commandments into the main court room, still have them there.

Not everyone does. It is now optional because not everyone is a christian nor believes in a deity and therefore should not have to swear on something they do not deem to be nothing more than a book. Those who do not wish to swear on a bible do not have to. Some courts do not even make anyone swear on a bible.

You do not have to swear on a Bible in the courtroom in most jurisdictions, that is only on TV and in movies.

in fact, I'm pretty sure in that very bible that we swear upon, it says "don't swear an oath" (or something to that effect.) "let your word be good enough."
So obviously the people asking us to swear on the bible have not actually read it....

Last time I was in a courtroom, there was no bible. I don't believe there has been for some time.

<----secure enough in my christian faith to not feel threatened by lack of a bible in the courtroom.
