What do you mean "not your type"? Is he blonde and you usually date brunettes? Don't go by type when dating. If you like him, go for it. Maybe what you think is your type isn't what you really want in the long run. Give your new love a chance. No one can really say if it will last or not.

My husband is not "my type". Before you say someone is not your type, I guess you should ask yourself what your type is. Is your type based soley on looks? Because looks fade over time. And a lot of good looking people are jerks. Maybe you should think of your "type" in terms of what you want long term. You don't have to have the same interests, for example, my husband is into sci fi, politics, and news. I am into reality tv, game shows and pop culture. But, we are both into knowledge and communication. We have similar interests in what we want for our children and our lives. We have the same views on money and how it is best spent for our family. So, even though on first appearance, we weren't "matched by type". It has been the best relationship either one of us has ever had and we are now married. So don't skip over the "nice person" just because they aren't your "type". Look a little deeper and discover if they are truly your "type" and you just haven't seen it yet.

My husband is not my "type." 12 years later, we still don't like all the same things, but what things we do enjoy together are great. It won't work if you try to change each other. My "type" was the typical bad boy, too cool, low on brains, high on body language, funny and laughing all the time, skaters and guys in a band. I went out with my husband because I was tired of my type.

well, I've heard that a lot of people end up in long-term relationships with people who aren't "their type"...sometimes, we think of certain traits and characteristics as our "type", but we won't really know unless we date around and get a feel for what's out there. anyway, just enjoy the moment and if it doesn't work out, take it as a learning experience. good luck!

No it just makes both of you miserable, and could turn a potential life long friendship into bitterness, and emnity, the best thing you could do is tell him you have no feelings for him and let him pick up the pieces the best he can. he'll go on and in a month won't even care

Well, if he's really nice, maybe you should reevaluate what "your type" is. It could be a great thing! Give him a chance and you may be pleasantly surprised.
