I like the laws. What law do you think should be change? The ones you don't like? Do the majority feel that way?

I fully agree. Especially the immigration law, I think it should be gotten rid of, and replaced with NEW immigration legislation that pulls no punches, brooks no bull, leaves no stone unturned, and lays it out in black-and-white for any country ever hoping to do business with the United States again. I think a good provision would be same-day-service, maybe even have in-flight immigration court service, so as to have 'er all good n legal by the time the plane lands....we've tolerated this half-baked crap for TOO long, ever since '86 when Reagan proclaimed the first amnesty, it's been like opening the basement door during a heavy rain...well the water's about 4 feet high now, can we shut the door yet? LOL

I really like the concept of the border fence. I think it'll help clean up US/Mexico cross-border relations pronto, something BOTH countries need in order to keep all dealings clean, clear, and above-board. Good fences make good neighbors!

Yes for the most part, obsolete laws like a man can beat his wife as long as it doesn't leave a bruise, or it's against the law to ride your *** down main street etc etc etc should be taken off the books. Leaving them there only enables some jerk to enforce a law that is no longer needed and cause a nuisance to normally law abiding citizens.
Will it ever happen? Not very likely. That would take effort. And we all know politicians can only exert effort if it puts $$ in their pockets or takes $$ away from their opponents.

Laws that no longer serve a purpose can be changed.

Immigration limits serve a very important purpose in protecting education and other subsidized services, as well as a living wage for our workers. We need to enforce those limits.

There is a law that makes it illegal to shoot a buffalo from a moving trolley car on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.

There are no more buffalo nor trolley cars on Sunset Boulevard, so that law could be removed from the books.

If we spent the time needed to change old laws, there would be no time to figure out the new ones we need. Most laws are simply outdated by new laws substituting them. Anything more and congress would be even more confused than they already are.

Like the current renewal of the Civil Rights Act? Yes, that is outdated and no longer needed. It is sad that so many people think it has any meaning left, except symbolic. Time to ditch that relic of the past, as the Democrats seem to have gotten beyond their KKK / segregation / Jim Crow past.

When you say "society", what exactly are you referring to? You're question is too general to get into any kind of legal babble. Besides that, what kind of laws? General traffic laws or you mean nationwide ammendments? There are so many levels of the government and the law that you could never finish this discussion no matter how many sittings.

Certain ones, yes(in example anchor babies), certain others pertaining to immigration need to be enforced. And I certainly don't think it is up to anyone in a foreign country to dictate how our laws should be. Illegals will just break the ones they don't like, so why the pretense of reform? Why not just be truthful, you want anarchy.

Yes, let's start with the "anchor baby" law - it's obsolete and should be stricken from the books immediately.
