I would say this... if you can figure out her expectations (verbal and silent)... then if your actions can exceed these... then your going to be ahead of the game. Frustration (yelling) is a result for kids not meeting their expectations (mostly the silent expectations.. the ones we are quiet sure ....or clear on.. ) spend time talking to her to figure out what makes her frustrated... you will find the MUTE button to the yelling....

I'm sorry that your mom chooses to yell at you rather than just talk. Maybe you should ask your mom to sit down with you and have a talk abut this. Explain to her the yelling really bothers you and you would much rather just be talked to instead of yelled at. Do you do things (or not do things) that makes your mom upset with you? Think about it. You don't say how old you are but if you can ask the question then you can understand the answers. When your mom asks you to do something, do you do it then and not put it off? Do you do it right? Have you ever yelled back at your mom? Show respect for your mom and have that little talk. I am sure it will help. Good luck.

I yell at my kids to make myself heard and understood because sometimes when I'm talking to them in a normal tone of voice they either ignore me or act like they don't hear me. Maybe you can pay more attention to what your Mom is trying to tell you.

It's almost always possible to prevent being yelled at by your mother if you just keep to her rules and do as she asks of you. Of course, what do I know? My mother died when I was a baby. I've always wished I could hear her voice.
