Death is the enemy, but Jesus defeated death.

If He hadn't, there would be no reason for hope beyond this life.

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

There's no "disguise" about death. Everyone dies.

I don't know any 300 year old people, do you?

The whole point about this life is to figure out what you believe is next, and live your life NOW preparing for that next part.

It's no different than in day to day life here on Earth. People with a workable plan - whether at their job or at home - are more calm, more efficient, and usually more successful. Because they're working their plan.

After all, if you're headed for New York but get on the road in your car without a map, no one wants to hear you complain if you end up in Utah.

It's all about preparation, planning, knowing where you want to go, and how to get there. We're all going to die. It's just a question of "when".

And, yes, for people in pain, in broken bodies or broken spirits, I believe death is a welcomed relief. That is, IF, before they close their eyes for the final time, they have a plan about where they're going.

For me, it's a basic belief in Jesus. I know what I have to do here to prepare me for there. (after my death). I've got a rule book and everything! It's very cool. There are only 10 easy rules. I highly recommend it.

by "plan", I mean a core belief system.

As a Christian, I am very at peace with the thought of death. I enjoy my life here on earth and I am more blessed than I ever dreamed I could be. But the thought of being with my God for eternity is more precious to me than all the worldly things in my life.

I will do God's work while I am here and when God is ready to bring me home, I will go willingly.

I guess that could be considered a blessing, but it isn't in disguise in my life.

Without death there could be no life. Without things constantly dying there could be no new life forming amd then everything would die. That's why death and life are the same. One cannot exist without the other. That is why I have such respect for mushrooms. The fungus and bacteria brake down all the dead material so that life may flourish. In Mexico they're called "la carne de los muertos", or the flesh of the dead. That seems fitting.

yeah....that was random, sorry.

Death is an enemy, not a friend.

1 Corinthians 15:26 “The last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing.”

Of course, most of us would hate to live forever if the world was to continue going from bad to worse. Fortunately, God will remove wickedness and replace all human governments with his own Kingdom. Things will be much better then.

Revelation 21:3-4 “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.””

I know a lot of people claim they don't fear death and the're liars. Its possible that there just trying to keep up a brave front holding onto life with every fiber in their bodies, as every plant does. But its lying, bald faced lying and for many the final statement to an otherwise fearful life. So all you youngsters pleae take pleasure in breathing because thats the last thing you will do on earth

Sure it is- at least for Christians!

What we call 'life' isn't living really.....HEAVEN is the beginning of life!

That is why the Catholic Church honors saints on the day of what we call their 'death'- which is really their birth into eternal life!

Catholics also will have Mass said on behalf of loved ones who have left this world on the date of their death- kind of like a birthday party for them.

My father in law was very ill before he died. His body failed him, but his mind was sharp as a tack. The whole family was with him in my living room as he died. The next morning, I sent the kids off to school, my 3 year old was of course home. She looked at the medical supply employees packing up the bed, wheelchair, oxygen...and asked where they were taking Grandpa's things....I told her he didn't need them anymore ( She was holding his hand when he died and I thought she didn't understand)...her eyes got wide, she stood up and looked at me" He doesn't need them? " I shook my head 'no.' She started danicng around the foyer SINGING " Grandpa doesn't need a wheelchair! Grandpa doesn't need special air!"

Oh, she understood- better than I had....I was never sad about his death again!

Death is a path of life which everyone has to pass by, there is no exception to it. It is what you do in this world that will carry forward with you to the other world. Money, fame, honey will not come with you but your action and deeds will come with you, they will be your shadow in the other world. It is how you take it. "Everything happens for ones own good"

Oh yes, life is a tedious exercise in futility, filled with moments of pain and horror, with the sweet release of death being the only escape.

Depends. If you're saved and headed for Heaven then death will be a blessing. If you're lost and headed for hell then death is nothing to look forward to
