Her friend got a hold of me and told me that she makes less than an honorable living with other men. I still plan on going to the Philippines, but I am a bit discouraged. I don't want to be judgemental, but she was less than honest with me. What would you do? I had planned on her being my guide and maybe romance.

Have you been there before? You should confront her on this issue- as a filipina and a fellow longdistance relationship girlfriend-you have the right to know what is going on. Your intentions seem to be well thought of, you should hear it- good news or bad from her own mouth. She lied to you! I understand your need for closure and understanding, but, in a way, she's CHEATING on you!

Be careful who you meet online. And if she is less than savoury in her "employment", she might be trying to lure you into something.
Also, and I don't mean to be crass about this, some women out there are looking for a meal ticket out of their lives. Maybe you can find a group of people travelling to the Philippines at the same time and have them help guide you. Protect yourself, that's all I would say.

Did you plan the trip because of her? If so, then maybe you should scrap your plans. Unless the idea of being worked over by a Philipino sex professional sounds good to you. Then have at it. Leave your heart at home though.

Make sure she gets tested before any relations with her. Personally I don't think you should get involved with her. She'll use you to come here and then dump you for someone else. Maybe I'm just being paranoid because I've seen it done SOOOO often. Good Luck though! Follow your heart!

Well you've been planning to go for a year, but only been talking to her for four months. Why should your plans be changed for a misrepresenting prostitute? Go. Have a blast. And if you don't think you can deal with her falsehoods, don't see her.

If you are serious, I would not go. Usually long distance relationships, and especially ones in other countries are bad news. It sounds like to me that she will just use you. Be afraid, be very afraid. If you go be prepared for anything.
