I'm on felony probation for poss. of a cont. substance. I have been on for 3 of the 5 years. I have never been in any trouble before or since. Since I have completed over half of the sentence and have done all that was asked of me, is there any way I can be allowed to go to the Army?

The recruiter has already said that I will be processed for entry into the Army as soon as I have been released, due to the fact that I am on deferred adjudication.

The felony conviction is generally a permanent disqualifier from military service.

As far back as I can remember, someone with a felony can not join any branch of the military. However, things change with time. I think you should email 'starsmoak428' so she can ask her husband the more pull you have the better off you are. And of course if you have a local branch in your town, go talk to someone there. I think they should accept you with a felony or not. If you are willing to fight for your country, then you should be allowed to do that. It sounds like you have turned your life around and you deserve a second chance. Just keep in mind that they might be a little bit harder on you because of your felony but I say give it a try and show them how tough you are. If you fought the battle of drug abuse then you should fight the battle for America.

don't know what state you are from, but most of the time as long as you have served 1/2 of your prob. term and paid ALL of the fees, fines, restitution and completed your community service work you are eligible to ask the court for early dismissal. BUT, the judge can deny that and also remember that that is over 2 years of fees that you will not pay to Probation and they are all about the money. i have heard of a couple of people that released out early, but the chances are pretty slim. best chance would be with an attorney, but you know that is going to cost also. good luck.

No. yet lower back in my day it wasn't in any respect uncommon for a decide to furnish some youthful miscreant the alternative of enlisting in the military, army or Marines. i imagine the Marines are the in ordinary words ones who nevertheless take those kinds of circumstances now. i'd have my legal specialist seem into it if I were you. attorneys can do brilliant issues from time to time.

Not with a felony, contact your lawyer and try to get the felony dropped to something less, also contact your local Army and talk to them.

Ask about a wavier and talk to your judge. They have to agree. I can't see a judge denying you the right to join the service You can go above his head to the supreme court
