Is it a criminal act to use fake or stolen ID and SS#s in the US? Is it a crime to commit identity theft? Is it a crime to enter a place under false pretenses or just to break in uninvited or by not following the rules? Should people who have illegally come into our country and pose a threat to national security be allowed to stay? Is it a crime or racist to demand the enforcement of our laws on the criminals that violate the above laws that I mentioned?

Julie....... You go get em girl! This was a great question and a great way to cause some thinking. My answers are yes, yes, yes, no and no. I am so sick of all the sissy baby's blabbing on here. Are we really living in a country with so many morons and cowards? We'll punish and throw away our own for the crimes you mentioned and show them no mercy. Hell if I were an illegal immigrant I could get away with it all and be shown all sorts of mushy sympathetic compassion.

Where is our loyalty to our Citizens? Compassion is cool and all but it doesn't change our laws or excuse the crimes people!

Dear Julie,

According to the U.S. Code, Title 8, Section 1325, illegal immigration is a misdemeanor on the first offense, then a felony.

Under current law, if the Social Security Administration or the Internal Revenue Service find multiple people using the same Social Security number, the agencies send letters informing employers of possible errors.

The IRS can fine employers $50 for each inaccurate number filed, a punishment that companies often dismiss as just another cost of doing business.

So, you see, you can't expect a yes or no answer for a question that merits a mature response to what is, unfortunately, more of your rabid ranting.

It isn't the fact that you don't have a point - because in a sense you truly do - it's the fact that you present it in such a repellant and abrasive manner over and over (and over) again.

Like a horribly damaged vinyl record.

Wow... all of the above are crimes. I am guessing you are reffering to the recent protest of not allowing illegal aliens through our borders. Personally I see exactly why there are laws against people entering our country like they do. But then to truly see the matter you must look at it from either a neutral view or from both views. Imagine if you were growing up in mexico... A little girl only seven years old with barely anything to eat ever and that believes that water is naturally brown, a little girl that hears of an amazing place to live that is just over that border. A place where food water and even clean clothing can be easily earned with barely any work at all. But then you hear that you aren't allowed to come over there. That they like their amount of population just the way it is, and that all you have to do to get over there is show the nice man this fake ID. Then what would you do?

Yes they are definately all crimes and I don't see how anyone whose first act upon entering this country is illegal can ever be expected to be a good U.S. citizen...first rule...obey the laws.
Clearly our open borders are an ongoing threat to our security.

I would add one more point to yours: Any time uniformed members of an armed force of another nation cross our borders without permission, it is an invasion and should be dealt with as such.

It has nothing to do with racism...I would feel the same no matter what country or nationality were doing these things.

P.S. Our congress which with the exception of a few have not responded to these issues according to the desires of their constituents should be sent packing.

It sounds like you already know the answers to your questions, and I agree with you. We can't always do the "politically correct" things; we need to also follow the laws of the country, and also support those that are immigrating here legally. I don't think everyone who enters the country illegally poses a threat to our national security, but I know that as an American citizen I couldn't go to France, for instance, and just sneak in and then expect special benefits for myself, so I'm not sure why we have to be any different here.

Of course all those are criminal acts. What strikes me as discouraging is that there seem to be so many bleeding-hearts out there willing not only to excuse those illegal acts but to encourage more of the same.
It is one thing to defend the moral imperative of people who 'just want the better life' that can be found in the USA but quite another to invite a proliferation of illegals that is already a burden on our facilities and a costly drain on our economy - to the detriment of all USA legal citizens.
Reading some of these maudlin essays in Y!Q&A might be downright scary if one had to think they represent a true cross-section of opinion.

if only everything is black and white, your questions would have been answered. based on similar perspective, we can also argue that we should send all the under age children who smokes or drinks alcohol to Juvenal hall. Those kids who trespass into neighbor's yard to pick up a ball or kite should also join them.
the law is ever changing and is design to adopt to current public values and perspectives. of course, the majority of the public will win and that's why the law makers are working on some laws to address the problem.
