Electrical engineering is far more lucrative. You are certain to find a career, or could even start your own contracting company. With people needing it in every location and for many different purposes, you will be able to choose what you want, rather than wondering what to do when you get laid off from the one company you may have been counting on.
Chemical? Well it is a good field but your usefulness is far more limited, will you be able to find the job you want where you want to live? With less options you may have to settle for something that doesn't make you happy in the end.

My friend is a chemical engineer and he will not be following that career path when he graduates. The main reason: the work is very boring for most CE's. A lot of it is plant management and design which really doesn't have much innovation. He likened his upper level classes to just reading a whole bunch of charts all day and plugging in numbers.
I will restate some of the previous answers, electrical engineers will have more flexibility.
If you are thinking about med school, chemical engineering can be a path. That's what my friend is doing.
In the end, however, do what you want to do. There's no point in majoring EE if you like chemistry better.

hi!
If you are REALLY good, chemical engineering will make you more money. However, it is a much narrower field overall.
On the other hand, electrical engineers can broaden their field by designing and creating. My husband was an electrical engineer but never used his degree as you would think. Instead, he designed the trigger mechanism that makes the smart bomb smart...and also has a monitor that sits on the moon and measures moon quakes. The info gleaned goes to NASA.
He has four patents to his credit.
He also worked a lot with Lazar.
In addition, he consulted many many companies over the years.
ALL because of his original degree in electrical engineering.
You go for it! Good Luck!

I am a mechanical engineer and hae no problem finding a high paying job, i.e. $85,000 +. A friend is an electrical engineer and he is in the same situation as me. As to chemical engineering, I'm not sure but I think it would be about the same. I'd choose on what you like better. Either case, you'd better love math.

Chemical Engineers get paid a lot more, but really you should base it on what you enjoy more. If you enjoy chemistry go for chemical, if you like physics and electronics go for electrical.

I would say a electrical engineer because today this technology is using mostly electric power.

I can help you in one way. No matter which you choose, make certain you pass a "color blindness" test. I once had a friend who found out, after his second year of chemistry, that he couldn't differentiate between two important colors. Color differentiation is important in both fields.
