I hope you know not to add sauce until meat is almost ready.
1 small jar Heinz or Hunts original flavor BBQ sauce
1 jar Woody's Sweet & Sour BBQ sauce
3/4 to 1 cup brown sugar
Tobasco (season to how spicy you want. I use about 4 dashes)
Worchestershire Sauce (about 4 dashes)
pepper to taste
mushrooms optional (I usually don't)
1/2 cup chopped onion
There you have it. My secret sauce I've been using for about 25 years. I like this one on chicken the best.
Now here is the one we use on steaks, fish, chicken, etc. You can use this one throughout cooking time as it does not burn like the red sauce.
1 1/2 sticks real butter
1 1/2 squeezed lemon (add squeezed rines)
3 or 4 garlic cloves ( pressed, chopped, or diced)
pepper
garlic salt

This makes a great barbecue sauce. We have used it on grilled items and oven baked items as well. We like spicy - so I add cayenne pepper for an extra kick! Hint -- I save my barbecue sauce bottles so I can pour this sauce into them. That way what I don't use I can save for use later.
2 (18 ounce) bottles barbecue sauce
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup steak sauce
2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 (12 fluid ounce) can cola drink
In a medium bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, and onion flakes and cayenne pepper.
Pour in the cola and stir until blended.
