yes. ive had depression and anxiety... what i did was read many sel help books, like "conversations with God" and other new age books that tell you what life can be life if we lwt go our out worries. i even began seeinf a therapist, but didnt want pills. don't think that the only way to gt rid of ur bpd is thru medicine, because the side effects are horrible. its all about your mind... it sounds weak, but it is true

I'm bipolar and it's been suggested I was BPD. I argued with the doctor and so he didn't push it. I'm old and there was a time that BPD held a lot of stigma- more a matter of choice then "brain disease" as are bipolar and schizophrenia. Now they believe it's an illness, too.
NAMI.org has forums. The BPD forum isn't very busy, not like the bipolar one. About.com probably has forums for it. I know they do for bipolar.
Finding a good therapist helps a lot. But it's not always easy to find one that's really good. You may benefit from the tools they teach if there's a Recovery, Inc. group in your area. They really helped me at one time. And don't forget, most borderlines have plenty of mood swings and/do often have dual diagnosis of bipolar. So the bipolar forums might also help you... and there's plenty of those (and support groups for them, check the listing in your newspapers for meetings in your area).

I have BPD... as well as major depression that's recurrant and severe, GAD, PTSD, and DDNOS. :( I'm in DBT therapy, which is the most highly reccomended "treatment" for BPD patients. Besides that, I also go to a self injury support group and see a private therapist once a week. I am on 5 psychiatric meds; prozac, seroquel, effexor, trazodone, and xanx. I see the psychiatrist about once a month. I've been inpatient 9 times in the past year and a half. And I still feel pretty crappy. heh... if you ever want to talk you can message me on here or if you have AIM my sn is rainbowgurl6667
Being newly diagnosed is scary. if you have any questions or need some support, don't hesitate to message me!

I have a friend who is a BPD person. It is serous. You have to find strong motives to cure it. Accept psychotherapy from specialists and focus on the treatment until the end. Dont let anyone disguide you from the treatment especially when fall in love. Usually people like you when fall in love feel happy and stop the treatment.Don't do that. It's an illusion. Stick with the treatment until you are well and strong enough to control yourself. Wish you luck and all the best.

Borderline Personality Disorder, while still recognised in the DSM4, is a "catch all" diagnosis. It is given to get you in the system, when shown without other diagnoses, of pills for life. My diagnoses take up a whole page, while half of them are "catch all" diagnoses as well. Read, read, read all you can and don't forget its politics.

Yahoo has a support group, maybe you can gain more information from people experiencing the same feelings that you are there.

I am surprised you were diagnosed this, they usually don't diagnose this anymore, it's an old diagnosis. But, I was diagnosed in 98, but also have Bi polar and am only being treated for this. You might want to check out.
http://www.nami.org for a support group in your area. Good Luck.

It's not that bad. Either you can learn to control it on your own or in a support group, or you can OD on pills trying to control it... I would prefer the first option.
