Amen brother!
It is a personal spiritual journey. The problem is so many people have attached themselves to predefined spirituality that they forget what the word spirituality means, it means "of the spirit". Being attached emotionally to something like a religion leaves people feeling vulnerable. If someone challenges their religion they feel attacked. Plus so many religions try to work like a business and get everyone to convert their friends and neighbors so they can be the biggest and best religion. So they feel safer in their one size fits all spirituality. Most organized religions preach that they are the one true religion, and the followers....well, they follow. I am sure we will get plenty of followers to quote someone else's words to define their spirituality. It makes no sense to me. How can someone else define my relationship with god?

Your are correct sir!
I cannot claim christianity or any other religion and I do not buy a single word of the bible as god's and yet somehow I still have faith in a higher power and that higher power knows I have faith in it (I mean higher power - sees all right?!)
Religion is perhaps man's most vile invention and Christianity in practice has very little to do with Christ as he's portrayed.
Peace brother.

Yes, you are right, but it is ALSO true that the Bible says to always be ready to give a reason for what you believe. That's whay there were so many messianic prophiesies that had to be fulfilled, and other prophecies too, so that people could use them and the good common sense of the Bible to PROVE to others that yes, Jesus, is real, and he wants you to meet him.

Religion is the faith in god contaminated by man.
Religion does not take place in your soul, it takes place in ones head...that's the reason for so many different religions. Spirituality, faith, belief in a higher more superior being takes place in your soul.

I agree completely. As far as I am concerned, no one REALLY knows which religion is best, and saying your religion is best or better just perpetuates indifference between people.

>>>Religion is private<<<
So say you, but that's not what Jesus told the disciples.
After the Resurrection, He told them to "go and preach to all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit..."
He didn't SUGGEST that they do this. He TOLD them to do it!
And He certainly didn't tell them to keep their faith in Him to themselves.
Sorry, but as Christians we cannot keep our faith to ourselves. We must share it. If we didn't, we would be acting selfishly, and we would be disobeying Jesus.

religion is not about your soul it is about being Right, if you are Right enough you can do the most horrible things easily, after all you are doing them for the Right reasons.
