There's a heck of a lot of laws out there that are stupid, immoral, and/or both. If a country's own citizens can't obey nor understand all of the laws, how can we expect foreigners to?

Can you honestly say that you have ever gone through one day without having broken some law...any law...from Federal laws to City Statutes? Did you know it's possible to use underarm deodorant or mosquito repellent in an illegal manner? Do you think that the house you live in meets every letter of the building code? Have you ever copied a CD or DVD, cheated in school, cursed? Has your cat or dog ever been outside without a leash? Ever littered?

(Remember that ignorance of the law is not a defense; you're a lawbreaker even if you didn't know it was the law.)

I just don't know what we should do with all of these legal citizens...deport them...they're a black eye on our society...blah...blah...blah...

I think you don't like Mexican folks...c'mon...say it!

Hmmmm.... Funny thing is, years before the constitution got so heavy with amendments, there wasn't a problem with hiring people from other countries. That's what they are, people from another country. They came here to free themselves from poverty, religious reasons, and plenty of other reasons. But doesn't that sounds a lot like what the British, French, Irish, and many others did many years ago when they landed on Plymouth Rock, which what could be considered today as illegal? Taking lands and whatever else they could from the true Americans (Indians) that we dumped in swamps and called their country ours. All these "illegal aliens" want is work. Is that such a bad thing?

Ha ha. They think since Americans break their own laws, it is OK for illegal aliens to do so. Not only that, they think the illegal aliens should be able to do so without consequence! I really wish I could understand their thought process. On second thought, no I don't, because I imagine it must take a very low IQ to understand.

Laws aren't neccessarily congruent with morality, an educated person realizes this, and so he/she makes a decision based on morality vs. immorality, hipocracy vs. equality, etc., not something as objective as legaility vs. illegality.

As an American it is hipocritical to be anti-immigration, it may be justified, but for a nation founded on immigration to become anti-immigration is hipocritical.

It is equally hipocritical to economically support illegal immigrants yet politically oppose them. There are an estimated 40 million illegals living the US, most working agricultural food service, and labor intensive jobs. It is inconceivable that any one in this country has not purchased something from a company that uses illegal immigrants in one way or another, thereby paying the immigrants' wages knowingly or unknowingly.

Finally, without cheap immigrant labor, prices on most of the things we buy would sky rocket. How many people would be willing to pay twice as much to rent the same hotel room or 5 times as much for the same fruit and vegetables they eat?

You may be big on laws. I'm big on equality and free-market economics.

Between 1938 and 1941, hundreds of thousands of Jews fled Europe, hoping to escape Nazi persecution. Despite knowing full well the brutality of the Nazis toward the Jews, the U.S. government adhered tightly to its immigration quota system.

In 1939, some 900 Jewish refugees on a ship named the St. Louis wandered in the waters off of Florida and Cuba for a week waiting to get permission to land. Even though 700 of the ship’s passengers had already registered for foreign visas, the U.S. refused to let them land and grant them temporary visas until the quota numbers could become current.

The St. Louis was forced to return to Europe. On the way back, refugee agencies convinced Holland, France, Belgium and Britain to give the passengers sanctuary--but many were later trapped when Germany invaded Western Europe and perished in the Nazi concentration camps.

This is the not-so-proud history of the “land of the free.”

Sometimes laws about immigration should be ignored.

Has anyone noticed that you seem FAR more worried about those who "don't have the same opinion as you" than the illegal immigration problem at hand?

According to you and others those of us who want amnesty are a very small tribe........why so much focus on us?

Oh and I doubt you can generalize ALL into a group with a banner reading "lawbreakers".....because if you did I am sure a few who don't support amnesty would have jump under that as well......and YOU wouldn't want that....would you?

Supporters of illegal aliens only support laws of their own chosing, while ignoring the laws they dont agree with. Supporters of illegal aliens cant even distiguish between legal and illegal when it comes to immigration.

You are right, they are not illegal immigrants, they are illegal aliens. True immigrants come here legally, they do not sneak in and break our laws.

No....I am not surprised at all. I have seen some of the most ridicules "arguments" on behalf of illegal aliens. The idea of amnesty is dead in the water.
