Why do people spell Gods name G-d? Are people asshamed of Him or 2 affraid to stand up at the fear of getting put down? Id like to see your opinion on this one.

i think it is cowardly and disrespectful to misspell God's name

I think that people get confused and think that if they are spelling it out then they are speaking his name in vain. Kinda like when you say it in vain. I don't know, but it annoys me. It is OK to spell the word God.

OK, guys & girls, just stop right there.
There are several religions who find it disrespectful to utter or write God outright. For example, it was a tradition to refer to God as "He who has no name."

In other words, they feel YOU are being disrespectful by glibly using his name.

i have always want to know that answer my self. i believe in God and will only spell his name that way.

they think god's name is sacred. if they write it out anywhere, there's a possibility that it can be destroyed, and they don't want that to happen.

that's how it was explained to me.
