for their rebellion against the house of David and the authority of the tribe of Judah. Judah was never apart of Israel the political entity that was formed after the death of Soloman. this contradiction is one of the reasons Jesus said those who claim to be Jews are not.

Israel was originally a man! The "Israelites" were his 12 sons and their decendants. The tribe of Judah ruled all of the 12 tribes by the will of God.

Judah was originally part of Israel, then the Kingdom split into two.
See below:
The Tribe of Judah is one of the Hebrew tribes, founded by Judah, son of Jacob.

Together with the Tribe of Benjamin, descendants of Judah eventually formed the southern Kingdom of Judah in the ancient Land of Israel, when the Kingdom of Israel was divided. These two tribes were thus not carried into captivity with the ten tribes of the northern Kingdom of Israel when it fell. This started the tradition (some say myth) of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel.

As the Tribe of Benjamin was always very much the minor partner, in time the tribe of Judah became identified with the entire Israelite nation, and even the entire Hebrew nation, and gave their name to the Jews.

Read about this in the Bible in 1 Kings, about Chapter 12 I believe.

The nation as a whole was originally called Israel. The 12 tribes named after his sons were like jurisdictional districts, or states.

The 10 northern tribes seperated themselves from the 2 southern tribes. The 10 called themselves Israel because they were the majority of the Israelites.

The southern 2 tribes then went by the name Judah, as Judah was the primary tribe between them and Benjamin. Plus, Jehovah had already promised that the coming messiah would be born into the tribe of Judah, so by adopting the name Judah for their nation, they gave attention to their prominent role in God's purposes.

Jerusalem, where Jehovah's temple was then, was part of Judah. Jehovah tried to send prophets, or spokesmen, to the northern 10 tribes to convince them to return to an alliance with Judah.

After repeated failed efforts, Jehovah handed the northern nation over to the Assyrians.

The Jews are from 12 tribes. Judah just happened to be one of them (or two depending on whether your talking about individual tribes or the two nations)
The Nation of Israel was the Northern Kingdom, having ten tribes, Judah was the Southern Kingdom which included the Tribe of Judah and the Tribe of Benjamin

Judah is one of the tribes of Israel. All Israelites are Jewish. Judah was its own separate state for a time in Jewish history. Judah and Israel where never at war. they were actually pretty friendly considering that they were related to one another politically, historically, and biologically. Judah broke off of Israel. gosh do some homework.

Jews come from the tribes of- Reuben, Judah, Manasseh, Ephraim, Levi, Benjamin, Asher, Gad, Issachar, Dan, Zebulen, Simon,

first off it was 2 tribes in the kingdom of Judah you should do your homework. That is not to mention the Levites that make three.

oh and dont forget about the tens of thousands from each tribe that fled to Judah wen the Northern Kingdom was conquered.

read a little history.

as for those who claim to be Jews and who are not he was talking about the Samaritans. Once again read a little history

site me one source that says that Jews claim only to be from the tribe of Judah.

Actually the vast majority of modern day Jews are not descended from any tribe of ancient Israel or Judah. They are descended from the Khazar kingdom that converted to Judaism in the early middle ages. So the whole argument is moot.

The nation of Judah and the nation of Israel also had two separate religions with different mythologies and different Gods. Read the book of Genesis- it is actually two separate stories told side by side. The two nations merged, as did their religions.
