Not here....This group is multi-lingual; we enjoy it all! But we do miss the days when "warm bodies" were there! High tech programming does not reason! HA!

Wow, listen to all the descendants of immigrants complain.

First off, I do get annoyed by those damn automatic phone things, but its more the principle than the "press 1 for english"...I like to speak to a real live person, not a machine.

Second, there is NO official language in the USA. Sure, schools are taught in english and most jobs require you to speak & read english, but there is no law that says you have to speak english just to live here.

Third, even though most of us consider ourselves Americans, my educated guess is that most of these people above me had a grandparent or great-grandparent who jumped off a boat in New York harbor. Personally, my ancestors spoke Italian and Gaelic, not english. Unless your skin is a reddish-brown color, you have absolutely no right to criticize anyone over immigration issues.

And finally, we don't even speak english in America, we speak American. Go to London and you'll know what I'm talking about. Some guy actually said to me, "Can I bum a f_g?" I damn near punched him. Those people speak the Queen's English...we don't.

It is annoying. And not fair to other people here who are of another language. And I don't think it helps-others to learn.
One language for a country has purpose-been stated before. Two always divides a country-history.
I also find the whole press one-two for any questions annoying--its a pain and sometimes there isn't really an answer for what you want and you have to wait till the end for Customer Services. I think companies have forgotten about Customer Service period. So my biggest gripe is autophone sevice.

Yes. Why, do they have 'Press 1 for English' in Mexico?

Some people just need something to complain about. If they can't think of anything significant they will think of something petty.

I personally was less concerned with which number I have to press than the fact that I was talking to someone on the other end that doesn't sound like they bothered to graduate the sixth grade.

Some people are, I don't really care. Some people, legal are not, just have a harder time comprehending the English language. I cannot fault them for that, because lets face it, English is a hard language to learn. I have been using it for 24 years, and still don't have it mastered.

In america, english is the official language. Yes, pressing 1 for english sucks. Mexicans should live in mexico, not america. If a mexican wants to live here, become america dammit, or take ur bean eating **** back south. Ole.

Before the advent of voice-mail HELL, there used to be kind, courteous OPERATORS that would actually transfer you to the Live Human Being that you wanted to talk to. And they ALL spoke the accepted language of this great country of ours.
I understand the need for automating the phone system, but...
Anybody that comes America and expects goods & services should learn to ask for them in ENGLISH!
If you are FLEEING a country, why are you so PROUD of it? If you are here, learn ENGLISH! It is literally the LEAST you can do.
Your "Anchor Babies" will thank you later.

hehe I hear ya. I actually do gripe about it BUT I gripe about having to press any damn number at all!!!!!! I miss the old days when a damn person just answered the phone. I'm so sick of these menus that take 10 minutes then you get stuck in them and can't get the hell out.

I know that's not what your question was about but I had to vent a bit.

No...it's the ten choices after that make me *****. When I call I want to talk to someone right then. As soon as you know I speak English, don't make me direct my own damn call...pick up the fuc**ng phone and quit trying to make the consumer do all the work!!!
