I would like to help them. I usually bring some soup tea and other comforting things to help them get better. What else can I do?

Miss, there was a great man who said once "The key to true happiness is in helping others." That man created a world wide organization known as the Boy Scouts. What you have done is fullfilled every Boy Scouts oath. You have done that with out being asked. I congradulate you.

The only thing I can think of that will assist you in doing more, is to become a nurse.

Oh the speaker of the line above Lord Robert Baden Powell Chief Scout of the World.

Don't forget to check with your church...Sometimes they already have programs in place. Also, people don't just get sick physically. We (my 3 girls and I) clipped coupons and shopped food sales so that we could bring groceries to the food bank, collected clothes for donation to the Salvation Army, stocked shelves, delivered food to needy families...etc. Volunteering is a family project. The point: there's a lot of sadness and despair out there. It sounds as if you have a caring heart and a desire to make the world a little bit better.....God will put you in the right place at the right time and let you know what else you can do. (I can't tell you how many times we found ourselves helping in ways we never expected!: )) And yes, God always made it possible for us to help those who needed it. It could have been a small windfall of cash, a sale so that we could purchase groceries with the amount of cash available, an unexpected free day. And every time we have helped, we were blessed as well.
Hope this is useful to you!
Love, Anne

Work through an agency...
In this day and age, people think of suing someone if there is any damage. If someone turns out to be allergic to an ingredient in your soup, you can be in trouble.
Find out if your community has a meals on wheels program for either elderly or housebound ill people, and help with that.
You can also start a food pantry drive.
Keep yourself safe first and foremost.

The fact that you care is the greatest start.
Listening makes a major difference, and know they can tell if you really are. Listening, and being sensitive to their needs is a great help. When you listen and pay attention, God will direct you to be aware of what they need from you. Help them with grooming, when people feel they look good, they generally are encouraged to feel a little better. Laughter is really good for the Soul and the Spirit.
When you are visiting someone ill, you want to ask if it is all right for you to pray with them, and keep it short.

become a candy striper at a nursing home. I'm a CNA and out of the 20 people I take care of, one gets a daily visitor, two get a visitor one a week, and the rest are forgotton. Take them some cooies and read to them, it's the best time you'll ever spend.

Like the first answer...contact hospitals etc. It is awesome that you want to help people. Society can be so selfish sometimes, it's good to see there are still people out there who want to help their friends and neighbors.
Here are some ideas of what you can do:
-Read to them
-Make them get well cards
-If you know them well enough and they have pets or a garden you can offer to care for their things while they are sick.
-Ask them if there is anything they would like you to do for them or help them with.

Oh, you get in touch with all the volunteer doctors and bring medicines and food. Then go on Medical Mission like what I always do everytime I was able to gather all these by saving my own money. Try it. It's self fulfilling. All your miseries will disappear.

Pray with them with a lot of faith.
Because If you pray with them, you will receive a lot of blessings of God. God will Love you a lot and for-ever.!!!
If you got a little extra money, buy some things for them.
To make them feeling happier.
Like for e.g. go to the cinema with them, and talk always with a positively spirit with them. So they can go for it and pass over the bad times. All these will help you a lot in your social life.
