I am currently 128 lbs., 5'5" and about a size 7-8. I am very dissatisfied with how big I am though and I would like to lose more weight. How much do I need to lose to be a size 2/3 approximately?

it depends on MANY things, specially your fat percentage. think of fat as cotton and of muscle as concrete iron. a pound of that iron and a pound of cotton would weight the same, but the volume of each is different. that is why a 200 pounds guy that is all muscle looks much smaller than a guy that is 200 pounds and is mostly fat. so there isnt really an accure answer to this question. it is VERY possible for a 5'5 girl to be 135 pounds and size 2 and a 105 pounds girl to be a size 2 as well, it all depends on your body fat percentages. if you want to get to a size 2 my advice is lift some weights, get a good e-book like "burn the fat, feed the muscle" by tom venuto, do some cardio and change your eating habits, dont diet, lower your calories little by little and not for too long so your metabilism doesn't go down, because if it does, you will get stuck at a certain weight and if you're dieting, and you finish it, all your weight will come back and you will have a lower metabolism and a higher fat percentage. if you have anymore questions you can IM me on yahoo messenger.

everybody weighs different amounts, depending on their frame size and the density of their body. in high school my best friend and i were 5'7" and wore a size 7/8 (and we were skinny), but i weighed a full 20 pounds more than she did. i come from a muscularly dense family, plus i rode horses and did barn work everyday. she was a majorette and didn't do any yard work at all. so while we were the same size, i had a lot more muscle than she did, and as a result i was heavier.
But at 5'5" i don't think you want to go all the way to a size 2. you probably shouldn't go any further than a 3/4 and a 5/6 would likely be healthier, unless of course, you have a really really petite frame.
i heard a comedian say once that size 2 was for girls on life support.....and those size zeros, well they were for the one's that didn't make it.
make sure you do this in a healthy way...i'm NOT saying losing weight is bad, but if you do it wrong you can mess up your period and you can end up with all sorts of problems from that...plus if you don't get enough nutrients your hair will get dry and brittle and dull, and your nails won't grow and your bones will be weak. you should probably talk to your doctor, or at least school nurse to make sure that you're not losing too much weight and that the weight you are losing is coming off in a healthy manner. slow and steady wins the race. be the tortoise not the hare.

I am nearly 5'7" I weigh 144 pounds and I wear a size 5 and some size 4. I have an hour glass shape and most people think I weigh about 120 pounds or so. It is important to know what clothes work best for your shape. If I buy something that is not for my shape I would have to get a 7 or 8. Also, if you are buying Juniors sizes they run a little small and you would wear a little larger size.

I am 5'5" and when I was a size 2 I weighed about 105,,,,,,but that is too skinny.
When I was 110 to 114 I was a size 4-6 and that was skinny but not too bad.

Depends on your build. At 5 foot, 115 lbs, and and A cup, I was wearing a size 2 comfortably, but who cares what size you wear. You'll be the only one who sees the tag anyways. If you're afraid you're overweight or "fat", start toning your muscle with cardio, lunges, and eating healthy portioned meals.

a lot of the dress size stuff has to do with the brand you're wearing; they vary by designer. size 2 is usually, like everyone's saying, between 110-120.

Be happy with who you are and enjoy your body! Nothing wrong with a 7-8 as long as you are healthy and fit!
