The Ten Commandments are found in Exodus 20. The seven deadly sins are a Roman doctrine, and I would imagine that you could find them in the Catholic Catechism.

10 commandments : Exodus 20
I have never seen the 7 deadly sins in the bible so it makes me want to believe that someone chose those sins as their own DEADLY ones and not the bible. Galatians 5:19-21 has a quick list of sins that are obvious, but there are many more that aren't obvious.

The ten main commandments are listed and expounded on in Exodus chapter 20. The Bible does not list "7 Deadly Sins." It does say that all unrighteousness is sin (1 John 5:17) and that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)....the payment for sin is death (Romans 6:23), but the FREE gift of God is eternal life through Jesus (also Romans 6:23). And 1John 1:9 records a promise that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Pretty cool, no?

First, gotta love 'jonasianbuddy', obviously not a Bible reader, but thinks it is sometype of "Top 100 List" of subjects. "Top Ten Commandments", always found in the front of the Bible!

The Ten Commandments are found in Exodus 20 ... "hear O Isreal ... "

The Seven Deadly sins (pride, sloth, gluttony, wrath, envy, lust, greed) are not directly in the Bible, but (as is typical of Catholic doctrine) a distilation of the Bible, notably Galatians 5:19-21.

The 10 Commandments are found in the Book of Exodus. The seven deadly sins are not mentioned in the bible at all. The church divided sins into two types: venial (forgivable through the sacriment of confession) and capital (meriting damnation). However, people make the mistake of thinking that the deadly sins are called deadly because they are dangerous to your physical health. The deadly sins are actually considered deadly because they can cause problems with your spiritual health.

Pope Gregory the Great described the 7 deadly sins in Moralia in Job:

the original sins were: superbia (pride) invidia (envy) ira (anger) avaritia (avarice) tristia (sadness) gula (gluttony) and luxeria (lust)

tristia was later replaced by accidia (sloth)

The sins were actually invented to provide protection against 7 of the most dangerous demons:

Lucifer (pride) Mammon (greed) Asmodeus (lust) Leviathan (envy) Beelzebub [lord of flies] (gluttony) Saten (wrath) and Belphegor (sloth)

Finally, with each of the seven sins, the church also annouced a virtue, or an oppisite if you may:

Lust vs. Chasity (Purity)
Gluttony vs. Moderation (Self Restraint)
Greed vs. Generousity (Vigilance)
Sloth vs. Zeal (Integrity)
Wrath vs. Meekness (Composure)
Envy vs. Charity (Giving)
Pride vs. Humility (Humbleness)
