Hi Friends,
I want to get rid off my spectacles. So is LASER operation advisable? What are the pros and cons of it and what is the cost of operation?

I had really thick glasses and I just squeaked by with what was allowable for a person with my ocular degeneration. It is great. I am so glad I had it done. Your doctor will test your eyes and tell you if you are a candidate first before anything happens. It is over so quickly! My procedure cost $2000.00 CAD.

LASIK and PRK have become much safer over the past few years due to better diagnostic and laser technology. I would recomment CustomVue procedure using wavefront technology. I had it done 2 years ago and I'm 20/12 each eye. It is more expensive then standard, but the quality of vision is better. LASIK gives you the instant gratification, but PRK produces better outcomes in the long run with some initial discomfort.

My dad did it a couple of years ago...he swears by it. He has had glasses since he was a kid and now he dosent have to wear any. He loves it. He said that the surgery was very minor, he had to wear a patch for awhile and he couldn't drive. But he loved it and wouldn't go back!

my mum had the operation & it's ok but u must be older than 18 to have it & the funny things is that most of the doctors she refered to them had spectacles themselves
