Yes, it's a disgusting and difficult question, because neither choice is at all attractive, but just imagine that you could pick which form of purgatory to suffer before evolving to a higher life form in your subsequent reincarnation.

In answer to the direct or implied question posed by some answerers, this is a specific choice between slughood and liberalhood, having little to nothing to do with the narrower dichotomy between "liberalism" and "conservatism". Sorry about any inadvertent lack of clarity. :)

That is a difficult question. I mean, the thought of being a slimy, lowly, unintelligent, disgusting creature doesn't make me happy. However, being a slug wouldn't be that much fun either.
That being said, I've always believed that quality of life is the most important thing. I don't mean creature comforts, but being happy and enjoying life. Since liberals are never happy - even when they get their way, I guess I'd have to choose being a slug.

I'm sorry, but you can't be a Conservative and believe in Purgatory. Conservatives would have absolutely nothing to do with giving people a second chance on anything, especially when it would make absolutely no good investment sense. If there is no return on investment or return on equity, Republicans would have nothing to do with it. Hence, Purgatory would not be in their line of faith beliefs at all.
So, I'm curious----did you pick the slug option?

A liberal, because later on I can always wise up and become more conservative.
I know this because I used to be a liberal -- until I wised up and became more conservative.
If I become a slug, I'll always be a slug -- and I'll never have a chance to wise up by going from liberalism to conservatism.
