I like the thunderbird's looks but I don't know if they are everything they seem to be. I am turning 16 and have the money but I don't know if it is appropriate or should spend my money on something else just as expensive but better quality.

You actually want to be seen in a gigantic American car at the age of 16?

Get an Audi A6, or a BMW.

Besides, I don't even think they are still in production, they were meant to be a limited release.

16 what are you doing buying an old peoples car. Besides in all honesty the old ones are much much better looking. We are talking the 70's ones late 60's. You are 16 get a tricicle not a car, kiding if you really serious you need some help, because you should be looking for a confortable get around car with cheap insurance. When you have enough experience then get into something better and work your way up. Just to let you know Thunderbirds are not gona be made no more even old people hate them. NOT A SOLTICE FOR SURE that is a joke of a car for the money there are better cars for that price, and much cheaper in insurance.

If you want a car that is based on the Ford 500 chassis, is underpowered and overpriced, go for it. Sales have been so dismal it is being discontinued and you can probably make a pretty good deal on it.
I would take this money and go for some real pizazz, the Pontiac Solstice and the Saturn Skye are under 25 grand and well styled. They have as much power as the T-Bird, but get far better mileage with their 4 cylinder motors.

You'll make the right move. Take it from experience, don't care so much about a car, it's a depreciating asset, and only an asset if you're not financing it. You will lose money with a car (most cars) period, end of story. Get a good car, something decent, if you like cars. Pick up a nice car, something you will enjoy, older BMW, Mercedes, Acura, Lexus, Infiniti. Just don't spend too much!! Save your money, your future depends on it. Good Luck

save your money, you will need it later in life, don't waste it on a car, you just lose your money, if you were to put that money in a CD it would double by the time you were 30
