For a while I was starting to think you were insane, but now I realize you're not insane. Good point. I wouldn't have worded the question like that. I probably would have stopped at the first line, but I would have been thinking a similar thing.
First off I am not suprised at how many people are saying Europeans are not bad. Second I am not surprised at how many don't see how Rwanda was caused by Europeans. Third I'm not surprised at how people are defending the small group of Europeans you are referring to by attacking other groups.
This is why bad things get done in the world and nothing ever gets made up for.

It's an interesting question. There is no doubt that Europeans carving up the world for themselves with no regard to the people already living there has caused many war and many conflicts, and will continue to. I don't think you can say ALL genocides have a European fingerprint, but certainly genocides occurring in nations where different cultural groups were thrown together have been influenced by their former colonization. I think the Hutus and Tutsis are a good example of this, because one group was put in power by the colonial government, and that started the cultural war that eventually escalated to genocide. The issues with Israel and Palestine are also an example of this, since Israel was created by England, who for some reason thought it would be good to displace a nation to put another nation there.
I so think, though, that it is too strong to say that people were evil. To say that acts of Europeans as they took over the world were eurocentric is good, to say they were selfish and uncaring about the world is also valid. Did they mean to screw up the world for hundreds of years and cause genocide? No. Should they have to work to end these conflicts caused by their selfishness? Absolutely.

>>>Every Holocaust we know of has a European hand<<<
Are you sure about that?
How about the Cultural Revolution in China? The killing fields in Cambodia? These were hardly "European things," and both resulted in the deaths of millions.
And blaming genocide in places like Rwanda on "Eurocentric thinking"? Come on, sir. That's some pretty serious scapegoating there.
Not to mention all the deaths caused by Moors as they swept through the Holy Land, North Africa, and southwestern Europe ... and the capture of many Europeans as slaves by Barbary pirates and other Africans ... the enslavement of Africans by other Africans long before the arrival of white people ... and on and on and on.
No offense, but I think you have a pretty racist attitude toward people of European descent. The mere fact that you're even posing a question about an entire continent of people being evil is strong evidence of that.

I think you need to read the paper, what happened last week in Somalia wasn't done by Europeans, it was done by militant Islam. What's being done in the Congo is not being done by Europeans, it's being done by militant Islam. All those murders, mutilations and rapes are being done to entire villages by Islam. Rwanda was fighting between two oppossing African groups, neither of which were white or European. The fighting between Israel and the Palestinians has nothing to do with Eurpeans.
You can blame us for the crusades, the inquisition and you can blame Hitler for the holocaust, but you can't be blaming us for all the ills in the world. You're gonna need a new scapegoat.

This is the best question I've read to date!! You are so right and nobody has the balls to say anything. I'm American, but I have Irish, African, and Native American blood running thru my veins. Its not gonna change in the near and certain future because too many ppl are content with the way things are(all races). The two of us can't change the world, but I'm behind you 100%!!

Christian and evil should not be in the same question together! Every culture has a group of individuals with a racist mentality and many hide it well

all Europeans are not evil. i am not european, so i dont need to be on the defensive. Right now, many would think all Muslims are evil, but it's not true. The evil is within each person so to classify evil to one group of people is not right.

This is not the fault of any one race. We by nature are aggressive, people don't like to hear this but human beings are predators. We eliminate any perceived threat. It is not the fault of those who dominate, it is fault of those who can not protect their own people. Human nature is a part of mother nature. Do you get mad at the tornado that destroys your house? Or should you be mad at your self for not being more prepared. I can't say that I like whats going on, nor would I like it if my house was destroyed by a tornado. The only one to blame is your self, for not being prepared. It's said fact of life, and no one promised life would be fair. If they did, then they lied.

Uh dude, I'm Muslim too and I agree with most of what ur saying, and no offense, but ur just doing the same thing they do with us. Just let the other ppl give themselves a bad name, but don't follow their example and sink to their level. Some ppl here are giving the other ppl a bad name, but not all ppl on answers are against Islam. Once again, i agree with what ur doing, but it's like saying everyone who uses yahoo hates hotmail.
