I live in such a town

I live on CSX's eastcoast mainline (it's like the I-95 for trains). I live in a town with 7 crossings and dual tracks (for passing purposes).

I've never counted the trains, but I know there are 6 Amtraks (2 Silver Meteors, 2 Palmettos, and two Autotrains ((which don't stop here...but fuel up in Florence))). There are several local and long distance freights during the day. Also intermodal ("piggyback") trains, the Tropicana "Juice Train", and coal trains at night.

If I had to guess, there are prolly more like 20 trains per day.

I work in San Bernardino California. The trains are around 45-60 a day and there are multiple railroad crossings. Because of the traffic most routes that cross RR tracks are bridges, because these trains run almost constantly and can have over 100 cars.
