The British Isles have several major Lee families.
The most important is the Lee family of Shropshire,England. This is the family of Robert E. Lee, Harper Lee, Richard Lee(signed Declaration of Indep.), and Francis Lee (signed Declaration of Indep.) This particular family came to America in about 1630. They had originally came to England with William the Conquerer, and are all members of the Carolingian Imperial House.
There is also the Cheshire Lee family who were the Earls of Ditchley.
In England there is also several lesser Lee families of no distinction.
Ireland is also home to a few Lee families, though none of their members did anything worth mentioning.

I knew a David Lee in high school in Garland, TX. He was blond and a football player. Very nice guy. Look up your last name on a genealogy website. I believe you should be from England primarily. The name Lee comes from the English name "Lea."

I am not related to this family. There are no dates births, deaths have you tried census, wills, land grants, tax papers. Hope this helps.
