I think our society has become sterile in that we must always be on guard lest we hurt somebody's sensitivities. People are just too wrapped up in themselves and take offense at the slightest thing.

I agree with you so much that if you could see me now I'd have both hands raised in support. Political correctness is merely a by-product of a country that's taken for granted the beauty of freedom for so long now, that they have developed politically correct taboos to protect everyone from offending anyone which in my opinion is stupid & impossible to maintain.

To remain as such an unoffensive country what should we do next? Pass a law requiring everyone to were the same clothes so that no one is offended by anyone elses appearance. Becuz we are basically doing the same thing to each other intellectually now.

political correctness and burocracy sucks.

It's true, up to a point. We should take into account that people might not know what our preferences are when there is more than one possibility (such as Miss or Ms.), but at the same time, we don't have to be intentionally insulted and just take it. Just because someone calls you a lady, instead of a woman, or black, instead of African American, don't assume they are being derogatory.

I agree. It's gotten to the point where you cannot even voice an opinion about politics, religion, etc., without people feeling attacked. If we could all sit down and calmly express our differences of opinion without anger, we could probably agree on a lot more things. But we all let our overheated emotions get in the way.
