You will need 4 years for a bachelors degree + 2 more for a masters (if you want a masters) and if you want a doctorate degree well that's a few more years. History involves a lot of reading and remembering names, and dates. Are you studying American history or both world and American? You could get a double major (undergrad) and study art history along with that (getting a double major, undergrad) and then get a masters. Good Luck!

4 or 5 to get your undergraduate degree and teaching cert. Depending on where you are, you might have a LOT of competition for the job. History and English are the hardest areas to get a teaching position in. Get yourself a saleable minor like math or science and you'll be more marketable. If you go with special ed, you'll be teaching special ed, not history.

I think it depends on where you live. These days you might be able to get a job teaching with a baccalaureate but the only way to maximize your earning potential is to get a masters degree.
Good luck! I hope you become an inspiring history teacher!

Well you will have to go to college to get your bachelor's to get certification then you will probably need to get your Master's when you are teaching in order to continue to teach.
