Walking, elliptical, swimming, rowing, dancing, step aerobics, spinning and cycling are all alternatives to running for cardiovascular exercise. And for every one that I listed, there are probably 3 others I didn't. Find you YOU like and stick with it!

First you need to get rid of the "lose weight quick" mentality. Your body isn't a sculpture - you can't simply shape it the way you want and then expect it to stay that way. That's why the very concept of "going on a diet" is wrong, because it automatically implies that you will get off it at some time. You cannot change the nature of your body - if you lose weight and then get back to your current lifestyle,, your current body will sooner or later reemerge. While there are many subtilities to losing weight, there are a few universal guidelines: 1. Try eating often and small rather than rare and big. Better eat 6 small meals a day than 2 or 3 big ones. It speeds up your metabolism and helps you keep your muscle tissue while you lose weight. 2. Try to provide your body with all the nutrients it needs. That comes by forming a healthy and balanced diet. 3. Exercise You will have a very hard time losing weight without a bit of exercise. Some exercises you could try are rope skipping, jogging, swimming, biking, etc. But really anything goes, as long as it gets you moving. 4. Consult your doctor Losing weight represents a stress for your body, and it's best to get advice from a doctor as to how to make this journey as safe as possible. 5. Get Motivated! This is perhaps the most important step. You may have the best weight loss plan in the world, if you aren't motivated to follow it, it's useless. Establish concrete goals, write them on paper and read them daily. If you want a detailed walkthrough to getting a fit body, I reccomend Tom Venuto's ebook "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle". It's the most comprehensive guide I have read on the subject. Good luck!

Well, you have to eat less. And be more active. That simple combination guarantees weight loss, but it can be difficult to implement because bad habits are mighty hard to break. Walking, as already suggested, is an excellent start--it requires no cash investment and no special equipment and you can work it into your life--just refuse to use the car for errands of 2 miles or less. Walk as part of your daily routine, and then add in a half hour or an hour of walking just for exercise. Climb stairs instead of the elevator whenever possible, and put on the radio while you do household chores so you can dance a little, keep a faster pace, work off a few calories. Good luck!

Buy a head of lettuce and a dozen eggs. Boil the eggs and peel. Slice and salt and pepper. Peel the outer leaves of the head and with a firm grip around the head smash it on the cutting board stem down. Lift the head and remove the core. Quarter with a large knife and spread the leaves in a large bowl. Add the slices of egg and add white vinegar and a splash of sesame seed oil and extra virgin Olive oil. Dine on this for a week and you will lose 10 pounds as stated. Walk do not run.
