I think it's because women are generally less capable than men. In most areas. It's scientifically proven that women should not be in positions of power or in control of finances. Women see things on an emotional level, which is the wrong way to view the world. Society's push for equality has catapulted women into positions in society that have been dominated by men for thousands of years and women do not instinctively know how to control themselves. This enrages men. So they argue with women and put them down for their incompetence. Not because they are "bashing" them. Just pointing out some of their MANY flaws that impede production.
That's all. If women stayed in the kitchen where they belong, they probably wouldn't ever be accused of cheating and would stop calling men idiots. The only reason women think men are idiots is because they aren't smart enough to see the world through a man's eye. They're too new at making decisions and they act like adolescents. You can compare it to the way a teenager thinks they know more than their parent.
Hope this helps.

It's all because of ignorance and arrogance and culture, but there are those of us who can transcend the ignorance, arrogance, and our culture by loving the opposite gender as a part of the human family and accepting that not all members of the opposite gender act a certain way because each of them are individuals with their own personality. It is very popular in American culture for women to be "cheating sluts" and men to be beer/drug using "complete idiots", but there are many brave Americans that don't follow their stupid culture and are wise, almost always the culture of a society has flaws which are eventually corrected, the world would go into chaos if everyone just followed their culture and didn't stand up to its foolishness and impulsiveness, waiting for God or someone else to change it or for society to change itself.
The reason why people stereotype so much is because of materialism/consumerism in that we want to quickly judge things by their appearance and not for what's "inside" and just use/abuse others and then find others to use/abuse, like for example how many men have sex with women and leave the women when she gets pregnant and how many women flirt with guys to get gifts and money from them until they get enough or the man demands more time/love.

Stereotyping is a survival tactic gone wrong. For example, if a caveman somehow survived an attack by a lion, he would then be cautious of any cat-like animal. Or if the same caveman ate the big red berries and got the runs, he might be more careful of anything that resembled them after. As far as the genders go, it's simple miscommunication. Men are dumb, and women are crazy; to eachother. We categorize information differently, because we place different values on common concepts and ideas. Because of these little differences, we occasionally have a difficult time speaking on eachothers levels about these things.

Men and women are more different than any racial comparison. Even though the fight for equality goes on, those fundamental differences shape our biochemistries, our minds, our feelings, thoughts, and lives.Since we aren't forced to study the impact of those differences in classes before puberty, our ignorance causes curiosity and understanding, or distrust, fear, and even hate. Those raised around abuse will tend toward the latter reactions.

Who can explain why humans do the things they do. I can't for sure. But my theory is this I think its natural to bash the opposite sex based on our experience and time spent with them. Obviously we have our differences of opinions and things we don't like about them but I think that in a sense allows us to judge the opposite and therefore bash them especially when we have strong views on something and they don't agree with it.

Frustration.
In order for us to survive we need each other, but some people cannot seem to overcome thoughts, ideas, needs and wants.
And you have to admit, you have seen slutty women and idiotic men, so it taints the rest of us who aren't slutty or idiotic.
Understanding a person takes time and research. Most don't have the time to delve.

It's easier to stereotype than to deal with the emotions of male/female relationships.
Sometimes it's only kidding, but some use it hatefully, to mask pain.

a lot of people have been hurt by the opposite sex in someway. It's a form of passive aggressive retaliation. We can't beat up the ones who have hurt us to we verbally bash them.

I agree with the cooties comment. Remember your first school dance? It was guys on one side, girls on the other. The lines were drawn at a very early age. Weird isn't it.

We often fear what we don't understand. And things we fear, we tend to attack, even if based on ignorance or generalization. Whenever you group anything, categorize, and judge, it tends to happen. That's why we should leave the judging to a higher power and chee-lax (chill out and relax!).
