I'm trying to run my database application, but every time I try to use it, it tells me to install JRE, why?

I have looked on the microsoft downloads for this Javascript Runtime Enviroment, so many & I don't know which one to download to enable my database to work or run properly. I would be very grateful to you if you could helpme in any way at all. Thank you so much.

Go to www.sun.com and get the latest version, some apps need older versions, but it's a good place to start.
