Why are people so hell bent on the immigrants?

All I have heard is the Immigrants and what all the tax money does for them. Ok well lets ask this. If a man/woman comes to this Country and wants to make a better life for themselfs and there family! We Amercians want to bit*h about it.
So why is it ok for the Tax money to go to Prisons? Would you rather have your tax money help some better themselves, or to keep up people in Prisons? or Wars? you know this is something that everyone disagrees on in one way or another. That is why everything is open for debate in this Country.

like the other people answerd, because Bush needs to increase his ratings, and keep the news off of how horable the war in Iraq has been. The fact is that Immigrants do absolutely no harm to registerd civilians. Everyone should be more worried about the outsourcing, more then the "insourcing"

O.k from what I understand. We have an Illegal neighbor she's lived here for almost 19 years.

Most of us Legal Americans and citizens believe that Immigrants can get jobs at a taco stand or what ever, but they can't they don't have a social security. Why do you think Illegals pick the crops? Because they don't need a check it's just given in cash. Now with that Government doesn't get any money back because they can't deduct money for social security medicare and everything else reason why they're getting bent out of shape. Yet at the same time they get it back when the Illegal immigrants go to the store to buy food all the money they get goes back to the Government.

Like someone said a few posts up this issue has been left unresolved and it's frustrating Americans. Now saying English in America only is quite Ignorant seeing that Americas language was not English to begin with it was Indian.

ok take a look around open those pretty little eyes and what do you see. homeless people, people on welfare and overcrowded prisons,right. You are right alot come here for a better life but just as many come here because there are programs that will allow them to live there whole lives without ever having to work or pay the taxes that allow them to live comfortably. That is why there is a screening process. So if they come here illegally they have broken several laws already what is to stop them from breaking a few more ending up in the prisons you are so fond of, or worse end up being terrorist. Honestly though do you want to support the support the 30,000 illegal immigrants that come here .

Ok, I see your point. But consider this: the debate on immigration isn't just on immigration. It's on ILLEGAL immigration. Thousands of people do it the legal way each year. Those who are illegal are working under stolen social security numbers, or under no social security numbers at all. They are not paying taxes, yet their children are going to our schools. They are not paying taxes, yet they are using our public roads to get to work. They are not paying taxes, yet they are using our hospitals.

I understand that we fund prisoners and wars with our tax money. However, wouldn't it be great if these illegal immigrants actually paid taxes, too? We're housing thousands of illegal immigrants in our jails because the government sets a certain "quota" on the number of immigrants you must have before anyone will come to get them so they can be deported. Aren't they sucking up our tax dollars, too?

Is it so hard to do it the legal way? No. But people want a free ride, so a free ride is what they get.

I believe you miss-understand the problem. No one is complaining about immigration. Obviously, this country is founded on immigrants. What people are debating right now is illegal immigration to our country. There's a big difference. First off, they are criminals. You can't illegally come into this country and not be a criminal. Whether or not you believe this is right, it's the law. This is the center of much of the current debate.

On a side note, this debate is not new. The immigration debate has been going for over a century.

Let me put it in this one perspective, certainly not the only one:

In 1986, our government gave amnesty to 3 million mexicans long before anyone really knew or understood what the effect of an open border policy would have. As a promise to the American people, our government swore they would uphold the law from then on.

Now they have not and the issue is on the table where it belongs. Our government must enforce our laws, deport illegals, and make the distinction between legal and illegal. If they are not going to pass laws and enforce them, they don't need to be in office.

That's putting it the nice way.

It is true that people debate about where our money goes. The difference between prisons and immigrants is that WE put the prisoners where they are instead of doing something else, so we need to find a way to maintain our decision. Immigrants on the other hand are here without our permission, breaking the law. We decided what to do about them, no we have to enforce our decision. Illegal is illegal no matter how you look at it. If you want to better your life, do it the legal way.

"...make a better life for themselfs and there family" If someone would like to come and do that I am all for it... but there is a right way of doing it!!! We are a land of laws first and for most!!! If you start to over look laws where does it stop? Do I have the right to kill someone or robe a bank if that make my family have a good life? If not why not? It is the same as what you are saying.... That is why we have laws and must live by them! If you do not like this then you should work on getting the law changed not just saying we can over look it for some people.

I'm just going to explain what a friend of mine is going through right now. She's 8 months pregnant due in August. She's pregnant by an illegal. She didn't know he was an illegal until he'd showed her numerous social security cards. This took place in Kansas. She'll never get child support because being illegal, he won't be forced to pay child support. So, you think this is right? I get tired of the whole "they're here for a better life," crap. They steal identities. We don't know them personally. Do you think I want some child molester around my kids? NO. "but they aren't all criminals," you say. How do you know this? They undocumented. You say "they aren't on welfare." Well, if they are using someone else's identity, how do you know? They can use someone elses identity to get welfare. They use people's identities to get everything. Why shouldn't that be punished? I know this has nothing to do with your bs question. I personally don't care. Hopefully you ILLEGAL supporters will see what actually goes on.

There are no borders in the soul of a person, an immigrant has really as much right as a citizen to live in that country, we are after all one Earth. All this tax bull makes me mad, if you were born you have a right to live working or not, working and paying tax doesn't make you better or more worthy. First of all, they are NOT immigrants, they are illegal aliens. The broke american law by sneaking in in the first place, making them criminals. I dont want crimminals sneaking into my country, do you?

Many come here for work, many dont. The ones that dont come here to suck off the teet of generous american society. They use up our scarce social services, clog up our hospital emergency rooms without a thought of ever paying for treatment, they steal ids, some are gang bangers selling drugs on our streets, some have killed americans and run back to mexico to avoid prosecution. They come here with no notion of ever becoming american, they are mexican! Most dont learn the language, and many wave mexican flags and cheer for mexico, and spit on america. They drive our roads without insurance with mexican music blaring. They are the poorest and least educated in mexico, and that is why mexico wants to rid itself of them. You dont see the rich or middleclass mexicans coming here, do you? No, we get the hopeless. We get the riff raff. We get the the ones Mexico doesnt want in Mexico, yet they are loyal, stupid Mexicans.

You ask about prisons? Well, in Southern California (for example), take a close look at how many illegal aliens are clogging up the prison population. There's tons of them, and they have their prison gangs reaking havoc there.

So you see, the costs of illegals greatly outweighs the benefits when you look at all factors. We are paying to educate their children, I think in some states thats runs as high as $18K per year, per child. We paid for their birth too, if they were born here. We pay for their welfare and food stamps.

People say theres too many of them to do anything about the problem. I say no it isn't. Even if it takes 50 years, we can deport them all. The problem didnt start overnight, and it wont be solved overnight either. But we have to start sometime, to get the ball rolling. Seal off the border first and stop the flow, then start rounding them up and deporting them. The kids born here can stay, but the illegal parents must go. They can take the kids or leave them, their choice. But the kids cannot ever partition for them to come back, not if they came here illegally.

Funny thing, liberals are so quick to spend other peoples tax dollars for their bleeding heart causes. It would be nice if we could choose how our own tax money is spent, wouldnt it?
