Best wishes.

I don't think it is hate as the inability to accept that someone else may not have the same belief system. I think Christians (which I am) have a high view of themselves and sometimes are overbearing in trying to transform those that do not believe, I am sure with those that don't that can cause resentment. However, spreading the word of God is a positive but it is a person choice on their beliefs. That is why there are wars all over the world, nobody can just let others have the choices they want.

I do not hate anyone. I am an Atheist and, like you, I will most likely never change my beliefs. I think everyone should believe whatever makes them happy. I do not appreciate it when christians tell me I am a bad person because I don't think the same way they do. But Atheist can be just as judgmental.

I am a Christian too, but I think sometimes as Christians, we get frustrated when the world acts evil and we lash out in anger. We forget that we are in the world not of the world and that we must walk in love above hate. It's a hard thing to do b/c my old self fought a lot and so I hate when someone treats me like I won't kick there hindcakes but I remember I'm a new creature in Christ and calm down. I don't like the way the aetheist are getting all or our Christian laws and practices overturned now in court. We as Christians need to stand up in our rights and privilages and use the law of land to our advantage. Don't let the aetheist take prayer out of school but then get Harry Potter put on the required reading list.

Atheists are a small minority in a very religious society. The word "atheist" is still used in a derogatory fashion by many people. Alot of defensiveness is created when people are vilified just for believing what they truly believe is right (this can be said for Christians as well).

You know if I met you on the street I'd help you change your tire and give you my last five bucks. Answers is just a way to blow off steam or make jokes. Yes, and answer seriously at times.I have an off the wall sense of humor that most probably don't get. I really don't hate anyone. Your question is sincere and nice thus, I felt it deserved a serious answer.

You gave your own answer. "I will never change my beliefs as I know most atheist will not either..".
There a few immature nasty atheists who seem to be the most vocal atheists circulating on Yahoo's Questions. Likewise, there are a few vehemently, intolerant and stoic religious people who also seem to be the most vocal of their group.
Debate is about "changing your beliefs". If you are unwilling to believe that a belief that was handed down to you might possible be in error, there is no point to engaging in debate. Instead it becomes a rhetorical assertion designed to get atta-boys.

Christians and athiests seem to both have an intense need to proselytize. Since their beliefs are diametrically opposed, but they both seemed to be filled with the need to convince each other, they stoop to just about any depth to get in "points" on each other. Personally, while I'm an apostate, I agree to disagree and keep the heck out of it.

You won't find hate in the Atheist side, only on the christian side.
Hatred is born out of ignorance and fear. Atheists are, as a rule, well educated and intelligent. Also, we have no fear of a being that cannot exist.

i will never change my beliefs either, but I understand what you mean. I only share my beliefs. people can take it or leave it, but I will never change what I believe in. Some athiests and christians alike try to ram their beliefs down the others screens....not exactly seasoning words with slt, or using a mild tongue to get the other to listen and understand. I dont understand it either.
