We have been dating for over a year now and have known each other for over 2 years. His college is 8 hours away and I still have 2 years of high school to finish. I know I may seem young, but I dont want to loose him. We love each other very much and want to stay together for as long as possible. Any ideas or advice on how we can get through this and stay together?

as long as u guys love eachoher and stay true to eachother then it will work, you guys just have to work harder if you want to stay together still. just talk to eachother everyday and keep the relationship going good. my boyfriend and i are long distance too and we have been with eachother 7 months and things r gettin much better, i mean at 1st it was hard for us not seein eachother a lot but we talk everyday and we r faithful to eachother so it can work. do not let anyone tell you other wise.

The only thing I can think of is trying to keep in contact and try to visit eachother when it's possible and just see where it all goes. It's hard, but if it's meant to be it'll work out.

But my other opinion is: you're in high school. Won't you miss out on prom and things like that? Have you discussed this with your boyfriend? Would he come home to take you or would he be cool if you had a guy friend take you? Also, he's going to college. There are SO many people to meet. It may be easier for both of you to still see eachother, but date other people. That way you will really know if he's the right one for you. I think it would suck to be with someone all through high school especially when they're not even there with you.

I don't see why you can't have both. You'd just have to adapt to the new conditions that college brings. Less free time would mean less time together, but you can still write to each other and meet on Holidays. And college won't last forever. It's a test of love, surely, but it's not necessarily something impossible to live through. My girlfriend lives in another country, but I will never give up my dreams! In any case, it's true that education is very important and you shouldn't abandon it at any rate.

Being in a long distance relationship has its ups and downs .. conversation is a good thing whenever you guys are far away from eachother. There are also time when need to be in his arms and you cant at the moment. its pretty hard but you guy will go through it.

Hi Sarah, it's Lauren! LOL! That's some tough situation. I don't know what I'd do! Tell you what, spend as much fun time with him, and when the time comes, IM him or mail him letters. Don't listen to everyone else, long distance realtionships DO work. You guys are a perfect couple. Trust me! ; )

It will work for a month, but after that you are done for. You are young and if it is meant to be then it will happen later, also remember that you will be going to college in a few years so it will be 6 years or so until you can be together all the time.

I speak from experience when I say:
It is very hard.

I'm sure its not impossible, but you BOTH need to work to keep it together. Lots of phone calls, write letters/emails, see each other whenever possible.

But don't worry, true love always pulls through.
