Top Ten things that I have learned about myself on Yahoo Answers.
Number 10.…..That I should not have dropped out of Logic 101 in college.
Number 9.….When I perceive that I’ve been wronged, I try to get even. (see answer # 8).
Number 8.….That when I’m wrong or hurt someone, I need to make right, (even if I’m right or justified).
Number 7.….I am wasting my time defending a literal belief and practice in the Bible that no other Christian on this site takes seriously (forsake all, live the Sermon on the Mount, etc.)
Number 6.….The amount of spiritual energy I spend on things that have no eternal value is measurable, meaningful and forever lost.
Number 5.…That when I think I’m right , I usually get longwinded in my response, the righter I is, the longer I right and rant and write.
Number 4.….My long winded answers only prove the amount of hot air that I have, not the wisdom, intelligence and spirituality that I thought it indicated.
Number 3.…My beliefs are often shallow, regurgitated facts I had been once told, but was too lazy to search out on my own.
Number 2.… How vain I am.
And the Number One thing I have learned about myself on Yahoo Answers … That I need to spend more time with Messiah, and much less on Answers.

#a million) Christian #2) certain i remember on Evolution, i'm not that ignorant. I merely imagine that some thing had to create the universe. There are some issues that ought to't be defined by using technological know-how - ghosts as an celebration. possibly Evolutionist isn't the information then excellent? #3) I nevertheless won't be able to make up my ideas about even if i'm a conservative or liberal - i'm taking the middle highway for now!

Honestly, I've learned just how poorly educated the theists in America really are. And when I say poorly educated, I mean that they have either ignored or never studied modern science, ancient history, or most importantly... their own religion.
I was actually not aware at first, just how dismally ignorant a majority of them are. And this ignorance means that I can't even engage most of them in an actual meaningful discussion about their beliefs. It's like trying to discuss classic literature with a class that hasn't learned to read.
It's actually rather disheartening for me. I've definitely got my work cut out for me.

I'm an australian, and now i have (as first hand as could be) experience of just how dominated the US is by the christian right wing. Quite a few believers aren't stupid and many are very bright, but going by this forum, the xians are realy dim. And thats being generous. Glad i am in OZ, we have a natural scepticism.
tah good Q.

I've learned from my experience here and in the Politics & Government section that most people are quick to judge slow to listen. Yell and scream at people for judging them and others, while they themselves hurl it just as hard. I've learned that despite being a "christian" most will act just like those that have angered them. Nobody has patience to listen anymore. Nobody is as open-minded as they claim. Few are willing to open themselves up to debate for fear of being proven wrong. Even if they are (faithful and agnostic alike) they still close their minds and settle on their own small world. I've learned that it's not Bush that's destorying America....it's US and our lack of tolerance in ALL arenas: religious, political, social, etc. etc. There is no ONE group that is responsible for this. This country is being split down the middle and people are choosing sides faster than I can see. We point fingers, we condemn, we mock, we make ourselves look like children. We Christians are mocked and persecuted for our faith (but we were warned), agnostics and atheists are condemned and damned by some. Democrats, Republicans, Liberals and Conservatives are so often at each others throats you'd think dog fighting had been legalized again. I believe many things, many of you think I am wrong, I think many of you are wrong. I will respect YOU, as a person, fellow being and American. I will respect what you believe as you should respect mine. You know what I am, if you choose not to follow the path I have taken, that is your choice. I can only show you the way. I can claim to "know" the truth, and I believe I do. But if you do not accept it, then it then my hands are clean. I have learned many things from many of you. But the one that still brings a smile to my face, is that of all those who "claim to be able to disprove God's existence" (and I have visted the links you suggest) I have found them to be highly debatable despite their so called "solid" arguments. I have offered many times to personally take up the challenge of defending the Bible, but none have taken it so far. (Part of it may be that I am not on YahooIM too often due to my schedule) But please, if you take up my offer, keep it as a DEBATE, I will be open minded as long as you are.

I have learned that there are a lot of misinformed people in here that need to REALLY study the Bible better, before asking questions or making the remarks that get made.

That there are alot of misguided people out there. I expected that from some of the atheist and agnostics but I am ashamed to say some of the Christians are worse. You are not doing God any favors by being hateful.

That unfortunately, both sides of the religious debate can be cruel and filled with hate.
That reasonable debates can only rarely be found when people can hide behind their computers.
That it's all about insulting the beliefs of others
That even when good debates are attempted, morons spoil it with derogatory comments

I have just had confirmed over and over that your average Christian is a judgmental hard-case who refuses to see any way but the one they happen to espouse. Of all the Christian postings I have seen, few reflect what Christianity is supposed to be about.
