Don't get an FM transmitter! Those two do not know what they are talking about! A direct signal input is always clearer than using an FM modulator. If your Pioneer head is XM ready, it has the multi-pin IP-BUS input connector on the rear (blue plastic housing. Get an IP-BUS auxilliary adapter. There are two kinds. One is a plain IP-BUS to RCA level input adapter, and the other has the RCAs along with another female IP-BUS input just like the one on the back of your radio. Only buy the 2nd one if you have or plan on using an external XM sattelite tuner, a CD changer, etc. Here are some links to both types:

Search on Ebay, they'll be much cheaper. The best adapter is a dedicated adapter like Pioneer's CD-IB100II http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3... Alpine has there version too. Not only do they charge the unit whiule being plugged in, they display song & folder info or your car's radio display and let you control the unit via your radio's controls. Way cooler.

The cheap way is to go to walmart and get a universal ipod fm modulator kit. They have something from a company called Belkin Auto kit Part # F8V7058-APL on line it sells for $38.74. The best the way is to get the Pioneer Ipod interface part # CD-IB100 most stores sell it for $109.00. That is a direct interface into the Pioneers cd changer port and your Ipod not only gets a charge it also allows the Ipod to be controlled thru its radio.

Get an fm transmitter. They are $20-$40. Unless your car stereo takes rca jacks, if thats the case go to radio shack and get one that has headphones adapter on one side and rca the other.

The car stereo will can be priced from one hundred on up. The expensive part is the wiring harness, faceplate and antenna. If you already have a stereo in your car, you can use a fm transmitter.
