Do not lie or exaggerate on your CV. It is too easy for an experienced recruiter to find out the truth.

Neither my CV nor my resume lie...although I put myself in the best light possible.
Interesting how some people here don't know that there is a difference...or what it represents.

No.
It emphasises my best points and my experience, as every sales document must - but it is completely truthful.
What's the point in doing anything else? You can always tell people at interviews who have lied on their cv's. People who've done things want to talk about them - people who haven't evade the question.
And what about the interviewer who knows someone at the last place you worked? It happens, you know...

I think everyone's CV or resume does a little, but I wouldn't recommend doing some huge ones, particularly if you think someone might actually check!

No.
You should not lie in your CV, if anyone checked it out, you could loose your job.

Yes, but who's doesn't?
It's been that long since my exams I haven't a clue where my certificates are anyway.
I've been in my trade for so long there's no way I could get caught out now. It's amazing how much experience you pick up if people give you the chance and they never give you the chance if they think you're not up to it.

What is the point, if you get the job you will be found out anyway. If you have to lie to get it, then it is obviously not suited to you

Nope, but come to think of it maybe that's why I have trouble getting interviews. I've been told to embellish the truth on it but that feels dishonest to me
