Eat it any way you want. If someone gets offended or something, they really need to get a life.

After seeing a Candid Camera episode as a kid, I'm a little paranoid about eating my food in any particular order. Mix it up a little. (Not literally. Mixing your food together could cause some nasty tastes. Then again, you may discover something you like.) Anyway, back to your question. Either, neither, or both.

Just chew up and down. To do otherwise is bad for your jaw.
Oh... I'm an idiot. I thought you meant in your mouth. On the plate huh? I have no idea. I think it's rude to analyze how other people eat their food. So if you get caught doing it wrong, you can just point that out.

As long as you use the right cutlery and hold it correctly (e.g. don't hold your knife like a pen, use a knife to cut rather than tear, don't chop your food with your fork, don't use your fork the wrong way up etc.), not even the British aristocracy will care in which order your food is eaten.
Knowing when to use your fingers helps too.

It depends what side the meats on, I usually leave that to last and only eat it if I'm not full up!
