if you smoke a pack a day @ $2.50 a pack that's $912.50 a year.
5 years is $4,562.50
10 years is $9,125
20 years is $18,250
25 years is $22,812.50
30 years is $27,375
40 years is $36,500
just think if you saved $2.50 a day instead of spending it on cigarettes you'd have a nice balance in your saving account plus interest. that is alot of money.
my daughter brought home a work sheet from school on this. im glad their telling them the dangers and the waste of smoking. of course ive always been telling her about it sence she was a little girl, she's 13 now. thats enough to save towards your childs education when they finish highschool. thats a good insentive to quit smoking, doing it for your children. you would be setting a good example and your kids would be so proud of you.

that is hardly enough savings to warrant me quitting smoking. Under a thousand a year? I get more than a thousand dollars worth of pleasure each year from smoking. I'm not saying that smoking is for everyone, or anyone, but I would say that this argument is not convincing.

So if I quit smoking, then I can buy a car in 40 years? I could save more money than that by cashing my empty bottles each month.

If I was getting cigarettes for $2.50 a pack, I'd be able to smoke three packs a day instead of just one.

I have been smoking for over 25 yrs now. When i started i was 15 and did not consider any of the consequences at the time, not to mention that fact it was not common knowledge that smoking caused cancer back then.

I have quit a few times but always end up going back to it.It is an incredibly hard habit to break.

Don't start as you will only regret it later.

Last time I bought a pack of cigarettes, they were a buck a pack. That was over 21 years ago. How smart does someone have to be to do something that stupid to themselves and those around them? Every time I see someone smoking in the presence of their child, I want to put my hands around their neck and scream how stupid they are at them..
