If she loves you than she would appreciate it and love you even more because it shows that you care dearly about her and such + such.

I don't think it's a bad idea, as long as you both know that a promise ring is not an engagement ring and you both still feel like you have the option of breaking it off as you grow and mature.

if you don't plan on keeping the promise to love her, don't give it to her. because i got a ring from my boyfriend who i was completely in love with, and after 2 years he broke that promise.
