Albinism is a lack of pigment. It knows no racial bounds.

An albino can happen to anything. It is basically a genetic "odd ball" that cancels all the coloring/pigment in a person/animal/ whatever. Usually what ever has pink eyes, too. Yes, whites and blacks both! There are white fawns, alligators (Andre - was at the SF Zoo for a while), albino snakes, etc.

Albinoism is a freak chance when for some reason you're born with white hair and usually pink eyes. It might be a gene disorder. I have never seen a black albino however, not being racist, I've just never seen one. I'm sure there might be but for the most part I've seen only white albinos.

Albinism (from Latin albus, meaning "white") is a lack of pigmentation in the eyes, skin and hair. Albinism is an inherited condition resulting from the combination of recessive alleles passed from both parents of an individual. This condition is known to affect mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. While the most common term for an individual affected by albinism is "albino", some prefer "person with albinism", because "albino" is sometimes used in a derogatory way. The gene which results in albinism prevents the body from making the usual amounts of the pigment melanin. Albinism used to be categorised as Tyrosinase positive or negative. In cases of Tyrosinase positive albinism, the enzyme tyrosinase is present but is unable to enter pigment cells to produce melanin. In tyrosinase negative cases, this enzyme is not produced. This classification has been rendered obsolete by recent research.

Anyone can have Albinism. It is a condition caused by the absence of pigment in skin and cells causing the appearance of white skin and hair along with pink eyes.

Exactly right. . . it is just a lack of the pigment in the skin that gives the average person color. and there fore anyone race can get it. They usually have really light colored hair and eyes and have very little body hair.

It is the lack of melanin in the skin, eye, and hair color. Yes whites get it. White people get VERY white, with white hair and light, light blue eyes.
