Antheism is not a rejection of God and faith, but more of lack of belief. It is very hard for some people to believe that the universe could be created in 7 days, and that there is something else when we die whether it's heaven or hell or even reincarnation. I've known plenty of religious people who have questioned their beliefs in whatever God they worship, some find their way back into religion and others don't. It's not like they are boycotting religion, they just don't believe in the same things that relgious people do.

Well, if you have no faith, and you've got no way to prove one way or another that something's there. Are you just going to follow for the sake of following? It's a rational decision, based on the things that have been taken in.
It's like asking, if we were created by God, what created God?
Religion is also another way of keeping the populous in control. Think about it, a society with no set standards of morals? What is that? Chaos. The Ten Commandments, are an awesome way of keeping people from doing things we would deem, bad.

OK, let's suppose that faith is a route to truth. Fred has faith that white crows exist. Bert has faith that white crows do not exist. Now, if our premise is correct, and faith really is a route to truth, then white crows must both exist AND not exist at the same time. You might be prepared to accept that, but I do not. Two mutually exclusive things cannot be true at the same time, it's logically impossible.
So, by this simple argument we can see that the premise about faith must be false. Faith is worthless as a route to discovering truth. A belief is unjustified unless it's supported by reasoned argument and/or objective evidence.
Religious claims are invalid because no-one in all of human history has ever come up with one single valid argument or verifiable piece of evidence in support of them. They are just mythology - i.e. wishful or fearful thinking rather than justifiable beliefs.
Hope this helps.

Most atheists just realize that the people who praise God are weak minded. They think that if they sit around and pray stuff will get done. I tried that four superbowls in a row (BILLS) and that didn't work. Atheists just don't want to be like theists. Also, lack of scientific evidence. But no matter what, if they are wrong God will forgive them anyway's. So much for waking up early on Sunday.
Amen

I do think that some people who have grown up with faith in there home usually decide to not go one way or other. They do believe in something they just need some prove to what is right or wrong with some faiths in the world.
so athiests just decide to be in what some call a higher power .
this is not right or wrong
They don't reject God just don't believe everthing in the bible they grew up on.

The Atheists do not reject God!
They do appreciate Faith, and without fear of punishment, as the believers do!
Also, their point of view is not regarding believing or not but they spent their time, which shows that they are intelligent, on proving, observing, discovering, working on, etc.!

well, when you look at things from a wider perspective, ie, history, it becomes a little silly to think that there is a god.
its not really more intelligent. many people who believe in god know that they need faith to do so. these are intelligent people who know exactly what religion is and is not. what it not is truth. what it is, is a personal decision about how to live life.
so it depends on what your reasons are, that's what determines intelligence.

It is common to the condition of man to be wrong. It is general arrogance to assume that those who disagree with you on any one thing (which would include the entire human race) is more wrong than you are.
Don't get me wrong, I believe in God, and strongly believe that attention to ones spiritual life is important, but I dismiss organized religion's general attitude that I must know God like you know God (ie through Jesus, Mohamed, Moses, etc).
As to life after death questions, if you think you'll not be surprised when you get there, are you ever in for a shock.

I don't think it is a "more intelligent" decision but I also think that simply accepting things based on faith without ever questioning them is an very unintelligent decision.

I have read the bible and studied religion. I made an educated decision not to believe in god. There is no proof god exist and no proof he doesn't exist. So we all have to look at the evidence and decide for ourselves. Sorry if my decision was different than yours. But it is my decision and it makes perfect sense to me.
