because at my local fair peope 13 smoke in front of cops and they don't care

Um to answer your question it depends where you live some places its legal for people under 18 to smoke and other places you have to be 18 to smoke it just depends where you live and what their rules are on the smoking subject and in some places where your aloud to smoke underage just cause you can doesnt mean you can buy them at that age either sometimes it just means you can smoke but someone would have to buy them for you till you reach the age you can buy them as well

If it isn't IT SHOULD BE... I can't imagine why anyone would want to start smoking in the first place... it doesn't make you look 'cool' it doesn't make you look 'smart'... all it does is give you smelly breath and hair and burned holes in your clothes.
Personally, I don't think anyone under the age of 25 should be able to buy cigarettes... at least by that age they are smart enough and mature enough to KNOW JUST HOW BAD IT IS FOR THEM.

Well if you are smoking illegal substances under eighteen, then yes. But if you are smoking cigarettes its oaky, in most states. Be careful because there are places you cant like around school areas and they have huge fines as a consequence. But you cannot but your own cigs, you need to be eighteen for that. But you shouldn't be smoking anyways, because you will get lung cancer, and die.

It should be illegal, I know you cant buy them in most states.
My husband started when he was 15, he died of lung cancer almost 3yrs ago at 44 yrs old, he was gone within 4 months of being diagnosed. Our daughter was 11 and son was 7 yrs old at the time. As for me, I was a widow before I hit 40. It was an awful experience to have to go through,especially at such a young age.
I know u didnt ask for all that info, just thought I'd share anyway.

No. It's not legal to smoke ANYTHING under the age of eighteen. In Canada, you have to be nineteen to buy cigarettes, and even ten, you have to have two pieces of ID in order to buy it.

Not in the US, and when you're 18 it only becomes legal to smoke tobacco.

no its not legal. maybe the cops figure they have better things to do than to harass kids who are just gonna find a way to smoke anyway
