I just want to ask - if anybody had problems with persian cats? And what kind?

i have two persians, and the main problems are this:
poop stuck to their fur around butt, gross, but if you trim the fur back there you shouldn't have this problem.
they also have breathing problems depending on how smushed their face is, the more flat the face, the worse their brething is.
and the can have tears come from their eyes that need to be cleaned often. my orange cat has red boogers ( that is what i call the tears) and my black one has black boogers. you just clean their eyes with a damp cloth.
that is about it. they are one of the coolest breeds of cats, they have awesome personalities and really big paws, so cute!!!!!!

If you get a Persian, get if from a reputable breeder. Avoid overly smooshed faces. They will have breathing problems and weepy eyes. Persians can also be prone to eye damage (scratches) because their eyes are large and prominent. You have to be vigilant about keeping their long fur matt free. All that said, I have a rescue Persian with a very mooshed face who was probably bred by someone who couldn't spell their own name. The cat came with the name "Odyssey" but we renamed him "Oddie" and call him things like "Snarf." We comb his matts out during the winter and get him shaved during the summer. So why have a Persian? Because they're so darned sweet!!!
