heres the deal-
i've grown to hate my body. i don't know why- i'm not really overweight but i feel terrible when i eat- like i'm doing something wrong. i'm not anorexic; i still do eat- and quite enough at that. but basically, my self esteem and self confidence have plummeted over the past two months. i don't know what to do. i've always been such a happy person but now i can't seem to happy about myself- i've tried books, meditation, sleeping more, exercising more, talking to my parents...but nothing has really helped. does anyone have any suggestions?

I say go to church. You are obviously searching for something and that whole in your life will never be filled until you find God.

I so sorry that you are feeling so insecure, alright let me think maybe its because you were either rejected from a dumb guy or someone called you fat or has been picking on you. If not that then I would say that you shouldn't feel insecure about yourself I;m sure you a very beautiful girl and just need to remember that your parents love you and your TRUE friends love you for who you are and not what you look like. Try to continue to do the things you love to do have fun enjoy life don't hate your body because the human body is a very beautiful and unique part in your life no one is like you and you are like no one.... you are you and should always feel pretty because you are girl and girls and very pretty......... hehe sorry, but seriously be happy try to not feel that way I wish I could help you by talking to you and encouraging you but I cant so I will finish my rambling by saying this....... live life don't feel bad for eating its okay, try to have fun and be the most beautiful girl on the inside and to the right people you will forever be the most beautiful girl to them........... good luck and be well shutterbug......

Regular exercise and yoga are very helpful, and not just for the physical aspects. The endorphins created from a workout do wonders for positive energy, and therefore increasing self-esteem. You said you've tried both before. Try them again with a new intention, focusing on your beautiful soul. If you're beautiful inside, you will feel beautiful outside. This has helped me quite a bit.

Always remember...the women we see in the magazines and movies are just ONE way to be beautiful. Women of all shapes and sizes are beautiful in their own way, and this includes you. :)

Sounds like something is going on.... I'd like to be able to help, but I don't know how. Being insecure I think means being or feeling unsure, or perhaps- inferior? These are attitudes that your own mind has created. Think of your good qualities and attributes and don't focus on the not so good or not as good ones. I'm one of the most perfect people that I know.... But if I stop and dwell on my shortcomings, I would not feel so perfect anymore... get a grip.

I understand what you're saying. You sound like me only I AM a little over wieght. I know people like ME and appreciate ME. I'm sure that you're beautiful and you have nothing to worry about. Just stay 100% away from starving yourself [becxause eating is NOT wrong. God made us things to eat and we were meant to eat...not hurt our selves] and turning to food for a friend. If you need a real friend to talk to, IM me. I'm a listener.

Take artsy pictures and put them on Myspace. Then, revel in the self-esteem-boosting effects of the compliment-laden comments.

Go see your primary physician and ask to be assessed for depression. I recommend seeing a counselor and possibly meds. Your physician can help you and definitely seek professional help!
