The common YEC answer to this is that Noah did bring them on the boat as commanded, but they died shortly after the ark landed because the climate had changed.

Hi there, I am a christian and if you look at the time line the dinosaurs question is not that big a mystery. Adam is approximately 6000 years old while dinosaurs are billions of years old. Before Adam there was a pre-adamic age, we are now in the adamic age (people looking like Adam created in the image of God) , the adamic age will end when Jesus comes back to earth again, after that we will enter the post-adamic age. The pre-adamic age was the age of the dinosaurs and there were "people" as well (that would be the mrs./mr. Pless's of the so called evolution theory), the people was just not in the image of God like we are. The extinction of the dinosaurs was because of the satanic flood that happened between Gen.1:1 and Gen.1:2. The earth was created perfect in verse 1 and then something happened that made it void and chaotic. What happened was the big rebellion in heaven when Lucifer wanted to become the son of God and God threw him and a third of the angels out of heaven, but He was so angry that the whole universe was disrupted and the earths magnetic north shifted and caused a flood and the so-called ice-age which instantly killed all living creatures including the dinosaurs.NOW:Does that answer your question!!!From:V man

First, let me say that the Institute for Creation Research has excellent material on this. www.ICR.org, I think.
My opinion (just that, opinion) would be that the Dinosaurs were included in those animals brought over on the ark, at least some.
As the water receded off the earth after the flood, the worldwide climatic conditions (too much water, new atmosphere, etc.) led to a global wind event, which led to what most refer to as the ice age. (Circa 2500 BC)
This change led to the extinction of several animal forms.
Again, I am not an expert, just someone who has looked at some of the evidence, and reasoned out what seems to be the best plausible explanation.
Good Luck, I look forward to reading some of the other responses.

Great Q! I have the answer! Dinosuars were created in the Beginning w/ humans. Back in the beginning, things were alot different then what they are today. If you were to read in the Bible were it talks of creation in Gen. You will see where it talks of water above the firmament. I believe that before the flood, there was a canopy of water that allowed the earth to have alot higher oxygen levels. Which means that things could grow to be aLOT bigger & Live aLot longer. Which explains the HUGE fossils of animals & people found today. Have you ever seen anything grown in a oxygen tank? Well during the flood the bible says that the layer of water above the "heavens" fell, which changed everything to what it is today. The huge Dinosaurs couldn't have breathed as well with little oxygen levels.
And Noah was instructed to bring 2 of every kind. But that didn't mean he had to bring 2 adults of every kind. He could have just brought the babies. ( gives more room that way). And after the flood everything just kept getting smaller, weaker & dummer.
Example: fossilized cockroaches have been found 18" long; a fossilized cenipede was found in Germany - 8 1/2 feet long! Fossil beavers - 8 feet long! Human skelotons - 13 feet long! You don't find human or animal that big(alive ) today. Things were dramatically different before the flood. So it is easy to see how dinosuars were able to live back then, & ti see how people lived to be 900 yrs. then.

Reptiles never stop growing, the magnetic force of the earth was greater at that time which helped creation live longer and since polution and disease are more common today, reptiles dont get as bid and most of them havent become extinct, they just dont grow enormous anymore. The Flood wiped out all the dinosaurs except for the ones on the ark. I dont believe God put full grown dinosaurs on the ark because of their size but since God wanted everything to repopulate themselves God allowed reptiles that were able to reproduce at an early age which were about 4 to 5 feet and carried them on the ark. Also the known world leader Nimrod, of the tower of babal, was a mighty hunter and i personall dont believe it was hunting deer or buffalo. I dont believe all those reptiles are extinct but they just dont have the chance to grow like that anymore.

First off there is not such thing as a young Earth in the bible, the Earth was already in existance in Genisis before the 7 days of creation. It was simply given light, had it waters seperated and was populated during the first 7 days. The dinosaurs, according to the bible were taken onto the ark "They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings." As far as what happened after that is unknown and would be left up to guess work.

At the risk of being ridiculed, I will be totally honest with you.
This question has been asked numerous times. I have never responded to any of them. But for some reason, I feel the need to respond to yours. I do believe that dinosaurs existed. They are mentioned in the Bible numerous times, but are not called dinosaurs. They are called by other names. Frankly, I can't answer your question because I never was interested in this subject and never cared to research it to find the answer. However, because this is asked so often it is making me have seconds thoughts. Maybe I should research it and find the answer. Or maybe no one knows what happened to them. Maybe there is no answer. Nevertheless, I appreciate honest questions, like this, because it drives me to dig deeper in God's Word for answers, which is a good thing. Thank you for making us Christians stop and think.

My brand of Christianity, Roman Catholicism, doesn't have a stance on this issue. It's a matter of science, not of religious faith.
Regarding creationism, while I believe that the creation of the earth happened pretty much as Genesis says it did, I don't necessarily believe that the timeline involved (six days) is to be taken literally.
"Six days" is likely a metaphor for a period of time that's much longer than six 24-hour periods.
A "day" in Biblical language could really be a day -- or it could be a week, a month, a year, or maybe even a million years. We just don't know.

I'm not a young earth creationist, but I am a Christian. I was taught that the dinosaurs went extinct when satan and his followers were kicked out of heaven and thrown to earth. They were the "meteor" that scientist say caused the extinction.

I think the dinosaurs went extinct long before there were any humans around to remember to write about them in the Bible. Have you guessed it? ... I'm not a young eart creationist, but yes, I am a Christian.
