biking will increase the muscle size... go for the elliptical with a slight incline and remember to have good posture so your thighs and glutes do the work. don't lean forward and rest your upper body weight on the machine.
to make your calf muscles apprear leaner and more streamlined, when doing leg work on the floor keep your legs long and your toes point like a ballet dancer. this nice long "dancer leg" will tone the muscle without making that bulky "ball" on the back of your leg that men look for... it will make a much softer curve to the back or your leg from the back of your knee to your ankle.
good luck

Bike might make your legs bigger, the elliptical won't. Definitely do not use the StairMaster- that will make your legs huge. Just do the elliptical and run. You can also do squats with no weights, feet parallel to your shoulders (works hamstrings) and toes pointed at about a 45 degree angle out (works inner thigh) if you want to slim down the look of your legs.

The bike will the elliptical won't
reason: bike works the calf muscle mostly and in a seated position , the elliptical works you back, thighs and calves in a standing position.

Only anerobic activity (like squats and calf lifts) will increase mass. Running is better for slimming them down, but biking and the elliptical will work if you are on them for about 30min or more at a time.

biking should help your calves. But the elliptical is made for your upper thighs and legs and butt.

Any exercise that uses certain muscles will automatically increase their mass. As a woman, you won't get huge calves like guys do.
