This is sort of research for a novel - what would be the price of a drink in Manhattan, like one of the trendy, chic sort of places. Also while I'm at it, a hair cut for someone who has a fair amount of money to throw around.

The cost is way too high. For trendy drinks in good spots, the minimum would be $10, but more often $12-15. For trendy drinks in trendy spots, often $14-20. Wine/beer (house) is substantially less. You can prob get a beer for $6.
Hair varies widely. Would guess for shampoo, cut & blow $75-$100. (for women)

Drinks at the loungy cool places go for 8-14 a drink, beer is almost always 8. hair salon would avg 100 for a cut, maybe 60 for a guy. Although this is NYC so you can spend as much as you want on anything.

Well I live on Long Island and the drinks at the local bars/clubs are $7.00 for a mixed drink and $5.00 for a bottle of beer. The hamptons are even more expensive...$12.00 for a mixed drink and $10.00 for beer. Now for the haircut....you can't ever go wrong with getting your hair cut at a Supercuts. They do a good job and are not expensive at all and dont forget to buy product!!!!

A decent glass of wine at a decent restaurant could cost around $15 - $20 a glass. Same with a decent glass of scotch or something like that. Beer around $10 give or take, depending on the type. I was just at Balthazar's downtown and for a round of drinks for my husband and I with tip, it cost us $40. That was just 2 glasses of wine total!

A hair cut at a top salon could cost up to $300
It's hard to generalize NYC, different areas cost different amounts.
