I think about suicide almost everyday. I'm not in danger of killing myself though, although people would debate that. I know for myself that thinking about it isn't that bad, it's human nature. And if someone says they have never thought about it..they are probably lying. No one I have ever met has never thought about it. Although it is room for concern, you shouldn't do anything drastic about it. But- if you start having a plan, talking to people as if you are saying goodbye, stocking up on pills, alchohol..razorblades..etc...then you need to get help. Getting out and exercising or just getting out and having a day of fun with a friend can really make you feel better and take your mind off of that thought. I hope this helps. Oh..and if you still feel like it doesn't help..talk to someone..whether it be a professional (I don't recommend it..I've dealt with a lot of them) or just your best friend..talk about why you are thinking about it. What is bothering you enough to consider it. Get it out. Or if you don't feel comfortable. Write about it. I have three journals. Try opendiary.com...it works for me..I find it really helps get out my frustration and thoughts so they aren't constantly nagging at my mind. Good luck.

I think everyone has had thoughts of suicide, even if they are fleeting. Some dwell on it a little longer. It is common. However, if you are having thought of suicide and I mean serious thoughts like exactly how when and where you are going to do it, then you need to call a hotline and talk to a professional. It may seem like the only answer but it's not. You may not be able to see all the options if you are in the middle of a crisis. Let someone help you see things clearly.

yes and in fact I took about 500 sleeping pills and then waited and waited and I didn't even go to sleep so I finally figured it was not my time to die and did something better with my life. That was 45 years ago and I am still here. Don't do it because you might miss something really big that is going to happen tomorrow or next week or next year see what I mean.

Not seriously. I would not want to have to go through another life like this one (that's what happens to those who commit suicide). I would rather just get this one over with once and be done with it. I can outlast anything, including this life. Pysical life cannot last forever.

No, and if you are you need help! I've never thought about commiting suicide, even through tough times. It is selfish. Contact your local crisis center or doc or something if this is lingering on your mind.
