Hi,

I am waiting for I-485 dates to be current (I-140 got approved). In the meanwhile I am planning to go back to India for good.
1. Can my employer still continue to file for my Green Card even if I join some other company in India?
2. If yes, can I complete all GC formalities from India
3. To maintain GC status, what are the rules, like how often would I need to visit US, etc?

Thanks!

Sorry, you can't do this. A "green card" is the document that proves that you are a legal permanent resident of the US. That means you are supposed to reside there. You cannot file for LPR status if you aren't in the US and don't intend to live in the US.

i agree with everyone here.... if you change your mind they can not continue with your paper work....
and if they some how did.... you need to live and work in the USA to maintain your green card... if you work outside of the country, you may lose it.... but if you don't, you need to return every few months!
