What about using the honorary title after their name? Professional or bogus?

I don't have one myself. Maybe what I don't understand is how can you "earn" something and call it "honorary"?

I think the average person will puff up anything that's on their resume, and adding something official looking will puff it that much more.

Having said that, I think honorary degrees are one of the stupidest things I have ever heard of. Seems, that if a person is noticeable, and the right people notice, well, by golly gee, let's give them a big fancy certificate to hang on their wall.

Well hell...my whole life I've had animals, and during the seventies I did lots of drugs. Does that mean I should get a Doctorate of Veterinariary Medicine degree, or a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree?

That's like giving a kid a driver's license because they drove their pregnant mama to the hospital in their daddy's GTO. Sure, it was impressive, but it doesn't mean they know how to drive!

You can certainly list the degrees, but it would have to be in a section titled "Honorary Degrees."

Honorary titles are not used after the name.

i don't believe of so. those with medical tiers labored demanding to understand understanding previous the fundamentals in technological know-how. Being a severe college graduate, or having difficulty-free experience once you're nevertheless guidance that, should be adequate. i do not choose an honorary degree to describe the greenhouse result, the muse of species, or some thing else you may clarify in a pair minutes.

It's a self inflated ego trip. If they truly earned a degree and was good at what they learned then they would not need any honorary degrees.

From an HR professional - they look good and you should list them as long as you have earned them but do not think that I will not ask what they mean and who can I verify them with. I check all of that stuff before hiring anyone.

Bogus. Somehing not earned is not really honorable IMHO.
